SCIENTIFIC DIRECTOR

e is an active collaborator in the creation and pedagogic success of


numerous university based post-doctoral programs in implant
dentistry outside of France. He is an Honored Fellow of the

American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the Past President of the Board
of Governors of AAID Research Foundation. He is affiliated with a large
number of scientific associations in implantology, maxillofacial surgery,
anatomy, radiology and physiology. He has been President, Scientific
Chairman and keynote speaker in over 342 international scientific meetings.
Professor CHANAVAZ has also over the years published two university text
books, one on Serial Anatomy of Head and Neck and another on Medical
Evaluation of Patients Prior to Invasive Dental Procedures and over 102

MD, DDS, PhD

papers of which 54 have been based on implant related topics. His research
on Quantification of Periosteal Blood Supply won him a national scientific
award in 1995. In 2002 he received an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal
College of Surgeon of England (Faculty of General Dental Practitioners) in
recognition of his collaboration with the Faculty since 1996.

NOTE:
Every student is required to perform at least one surgery under mentors supervision in first year.
Case selection, preparation and presentation should be in accordance to the Institute protocol.
Students are allowed to do multiple cases under supervision.
Surgical session dates will be amicably decided between students and mentors. Though minimum
two surgeries should be performed per session.
For group discussion, case discussion and post-op follow up a private group will be formed.
Mentors will provide pre-op, post-op support through this group.
All students must attend group surgical sessions.
Management reserves the right to increase number of surgical sessions.
Surgical venue is our private facility (Major and Minor OT) in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai
or mentors facility can be utilized if required.
Students should be eligible to perform surgeries in India.

Q. What is this course all about?
A. This is a comprehensive didactic, practical and clinical training course in contemporary
implant dentistry. Its meant to train both general dental surgeons and specialist dental surgeons
alike in routine implant procedures and advanced implant procedures to enable them to offer
their patients the highest professional care they legitimately deserve.
Q. Is this course affiliated with any university?
A. Yes, this course is affiliated with universities in Europe, USA, Canada and Middle East and
currently being conducted in more than 7 countries.
Q. Why take a structured implant dentistry course?
A. Implant dentistry is highly specialized field and in todays medico-legal atmosphere and high

A. Clinical faculty will gracefully help you with treatment planning but relevant data must be

during the course to practice and place implants on your own. You must bring your cases to the
faculty for discussion and implant placement.
