COURSE OUTCOMES:
At the end of the course, the students should be able to:1. Weld 8 inches nominal pipe size (NPS) schedule 40 carbon steel pipe in 6G position
2. Weld 2 inches nominal pipe size (NPS) schedule 80 carbon steel pipe in 6G position
3. Weld 8 inches nominal pipe size (NPS) carbon steel pipe schedule 40 with schedule 80 in 6GR position
COURSE DESCRIPTION :
This unit identifies the competence required to weld 8 inches nominal pipe size (NPS) schedule 40 carbon steel pipe in 6G position, 2
inches nominal pipe size (NPS) schedule 80 carbon steel pipe in 6G position, 8 inches nominal pipe size (NPS) carbon steel pipe schedule 40
with schedule 80 in 6GR position by selecting, preparing and setting the plates; using SMAW process and checking the weldment so that the
pipe is welded according to welding instruction/procedure and the weldment is free from defect and meet the specified welding standard
