Preface
The document defines the installation inspection items for the ZXSDR B8200
(V4.0) indoor base band pool. It is prepared for the field engineering personnel
and quality management personnel to check the installation quality after
hardware installation of the ZXSDR B8200 (V4.0) product. It is not a guide
document for installation. For specific installation specifications, refer to related
technical documentation of the product.

The items not specified in this document should be checked in compliance with
the technical proposal, engineering design, product acceptance specifications,
operator’s standards, or the local national standards. Processes and results
that are in conflict with the articles containing “must”, “prohibited” and “should
not” in the above documents are serious errors; others are common errors. If
any conflicts occur between this document and technique standards, follow the
latter.

Chapter 1 Equipment Room and


Equipment Layout
1.1 Equipment Room
1. The civil construction and decoration of the equipment room shall
have all been completed. The windows and doors shall be
complete. The holes through which cables are led outside shall be
airtight. The equipment room shall be dry without any seeper, and
be able to avoid water invasion from the holes. There shall be no
visible dust. The ceiling shall be strictly waterproof and without dust
falling. The decoration material shall be fire resistant or retardant. It
is recommended to apply double glasses to the exterior windows
and seal them. The doors and windows shall be airtight and
dustproof.

2. Anti-static measures must be taken in the equipment room.

3. Sunlight should not enter the equipment room. Colored glazing or


dark-colored curtains are recommended to block sunlight.

4. Daily lighting facilities should be equipped.

5. Water supply pipes, drainpipes, gas pipes, and fire protection pipes
are prohibited in the equipment room.

6. Flammable and explosive materials are prohibited in the equipment


room. Fire protection facilities must be equipped.

7. Power sockets of different voltages should have distinct labels.

8. The equipment room should be equipped with smoke-sensitivity


and temperature-sensitivity alarm devices, which all have good
performance.

9. If the soil resistivity of the site is lower than 700Ω·m, the ground
resistance for the site should be less than 10Ω. Otherwise, the
equivalent radius of the ground grid should be at least 20m, and
horizontal radiant ground conductors that are 20~30m long should

be laid at the four corners of the ground grid.

1.2 Equipment Layout


1. If B8200 is hanged against the wall with a bracket, its layout
requirements are as follows:

 Distance between B8200 and the front row of racks should be at


least 400mm.

 At least 100mm spare room must be kept at both flanks of the


bracket.

2. If B8200 is hanged against the wall with a BC8180 cabinet, the


requirements are as follows:

 Distance between B8200 and the front row of racks should be at


least 400mm.

 At least 100mm spare room must be kept at both flanks of the


bracket.

3. If B8200 is installed in a 19-inch standing installation rack, the


requirements are as follows:

 Distance between the 19-inch installation rack and the front row
of equipment should be at least 400mm.

 Distance between the of 19-inch rack support pole and the wall
behind (or row of racks behind) should beat least 400mm.

 At least 100mm spare room must be kept at both flanks of the


installation rack.

 Installation trays should be installed in this installation mode.

4. If B8200 is installed in a W121 M02 cabinet, the requirements are as


follows:

 At least 1m of maintenance space shall be reserved before and


after the W121 M02 cabinet.

 B8200 shall be installed in the position of 1U or 2U of Shelf U8,


the cable trough shall be installed in the position of U3, LPU
signal lightning-proof box shall be installed in U4, and the other

four U positions are reserved for transmission equipment.

 The flank air windshield plates of the installation shelf should be


removed before the B8200 installation.

Chapter 2 Equipment Installation


Techniques
2.1 Cabinet Installation Techniques
1. If B8200 is installed in a cabinet, the installation shall meet
requirements of the engineering design. Besides, shockproof and
reinforcement measures must be taken.

2. If B8200 is installed against the wall with a bracket, the installation


bracket and parts must be insulated from the wall, and so as B8200
from the wall. When the installation is completed, the cabinet
should also be insulated from the expansion bolts.

3. If B8200 is installed in the 19-inch standing installation rack, the


rack must be electrically insulated from its feet bolts and the
ground.

4. Expansion bolts shall be installed correctly and securely, and all the
insulating washers, flat washers, spring washers, bolts and nuts
shall be installed in the correct sequence, without reverse
installation. Tighten moment of M12 bolt shall not be less than
45Nm.

5. Release-proof measures shall be taken on the bolt joints, such as


using the spring washers and double nuts.

6. The vertical deviation of B8200 shall not exceed 3mm.

7. The horizontal deviation of B8200 shall not exceed 3mm.

2.2 Cabinet Power Supply


1. If B8200 adopts the DC power supply, 10A air-breaker should be
used for the power supply.

2. If B8200 adopts the AC power supply, an AC/DC power converting


module should be equipped.

Chapter 3 Installation of Cable Trays


1. The installation positions and heights shall comply with the
engineering design requirements.

2. The cable tray and the wall or the cabinet row shall keep parallel,
with 2mm of horizontal deviation per meter allowed.

3. The cable tray shall be level or plumb, and the specifications of the
level irons shall be consistent. Both ends of the level iron shall be
close to the flat steels of the tray and the level iron clips. The level
irons and flat steels of the cable tray shall be perpendicular to each
other.

4. Components such as level iron clips and fastening bolts shall be in


complete set and firmly fixed.

5. The level irons of the cable tray shall be evenly spaced. If they
obstruct cabling, the spaces can be adjusted appropriately.

6. The troughs shall be installed in a straight, flat and secure way. The
troughs in the same line shall be aligned, with 2mm of deviation
allowed at the joints of two troughs.

7. The protection ground of the cable tray shall comply with the
engineering design requirements.

8. Reliable electric connection shall be ensured between the


connected trays.

9. The ground support poles of the cable trays shall be installed in a


vertical and reliable way. The reinforcement support shall be
installed stably and securely, with the hangers fixed neatly and
vertically.

10. The expansion bolts to fasten all supports shall have the same
surplus length (about 5mm of bolt rod left outside the nut) after they
are tightened.

11. When cable trays go through the hollow space under the floor or
through the wall holes, protection frames shall be used. After the

cables are laid and bundled, waterproof and fireproof materials


shall be used to seal the holes.

12. The indoor cable trays shall be grounded reliably. For the long
cable trays, it is recommended to ground the tray once every 5
meters with multi-strand copper wire, whose diameter is at least
16mm2.

13. The indoor cable tray shall not have electric connection with the
outdoor one.

Chapter 4 Cable Distribution and


Connection
4.1 Cabling Requirements
1. Routes of the power cables, ground cables and signal cables shall
satisfy the engineering design requirements.

2. Different kinds of cables shall be laid separately, with their routes


clear, smooth, straight and without cross. Finally, the cables shall
be bundled with proper tightness.

3. The cable between cabinets or connect to other equipment must be


bundled along the cable tray.

4. The AC power cables and the DC power cables shall be separated


in the cable tray, with a space at least 50mm, and so as the DC
power cables and the non-shielded cables. And the AC power
cables and the non-shielded cables shall be at least 150mm away
from each other.

5. Cable troughs shall be used for cables laid in the wall or under the
floor.

4.2 Bundling Requirements


1. Cables must be bundled neatly and close to each other. The cable
surface shall be the same level, either horizontally or vertically, with
a deviation not more than 5mm allowed.

2. The cables outside the cabinet shall not inter-twist or wring.

3. The tie specification is right. The larger the sectional area is, the
longer and wider ties should be used (to sustain large pull forces).
Avoid using the ties in serial connection. If the ties have to be used
in serial connection, at most two ties can be connected.

4. The cables shall not loosen in the ties. The ties shall face a
consistent direction. The intervals between the ties shall be even,
tidy, and consistent with the intervals of cable tray crosspieces

(usually 300mm~700mm).

5. The surplus part of the tie shall be cut off. For the indoor tie, the
surplus part shall be completely cut off from the buckle. For the
outdoor tie, the surplus part shall be neatly cut, with 2mm left from
the buckle. It is prohibited to mix the black ties with the white ones.
White ties shall be used indoors.

6. Power cables (including ground cables) and signal cables shall be


laid separately along the two sides of the cable tray.

7. The cable surface shall be clean, without engineer marks. The


insulating layers of protective tubes shall have no scratches or
signs of damage.

4.3 Cable Connection


1. The cut ends on the cable sheath shall not hurt the core wires.

2. The cut ends shall be covered with proper tubes or wrapped with
insulating tapes. The color of the tubes and tapes should be
consistent with the cables (except the yellow-green PGN cables).

3. For the same kinds of cables, the length of the cable cut ends shall
be the same and so as the tubes and insulating tapes. The
deviation shall not exceed 5mm.

4. The welded cable shall not have open joints, false welding, missed
welding, wrong welding or mixed welding. The core wires shall be
close to the terminal. The joints shall have no sharp tips or lumps.
The insulating layers of the core wires shall not be burnt. And the
length of copper wires exposed in the air shall not exceed 2mm.

5. All cables are connected properly and neatly.

6. When the cables are connected to the copper bar, the oxide layer of
the copper bar at the grounding point shall be removed.

7. If the cables are connected by screws, the screws shall be


tightened.

4.4 Power Cables & Ground Cables


1. Power cables and ground cables shall be whole-piece. The surplus
parts shall be cut off. And their cross sectional areas shall comply
with the capacity as designed. The cable routes shall comply with
the engineering design requirements.

2. The wiring terminals shall match the diameter of the power cables
and the ground cables. The core wires shall be tidily trimmed and
they shall not be clamped and connected to small wiring terminals.

3. Power cables and ground cables shall be clamped reliably, and the
core in the terminal shall not be moveable.

4. The clamping part of the wiring terminal shall be covered with hot-
shrinkable tube or at least two layers of insulating tapes, without
exposing the naked core or copper lug.

5. The outdoor parts of the cables shall be outdoor cables or be


protected by tubes or other materials.

6. When power cables are connected to the terminals on power


distribution cabinet, the copper lugs shall be used to connect the
terminal and fastened with screws. They should have good electric
contact.

7. When power cables are connected to the terminals on the cabinet,


the connectors shall be fastened with screws. And make sure they
have good electric contact.

8. Power cables shall be laid neatly. The bends shall have a


consistent radian whose radius exceeds 50mm (at least 20 times
that of the cable external diameter).

9. When the power cables are crimped and connected, each bolt can
support at most two wire terminals, and these two terminals shall
cross over rather than overlap.

10. Before power cables and ground cables are connected to the power
wiring terminals, use pliers to twist the cabling shape. The cabling
routes should be straight and cables should be bundled neatly.
During the connection, the remote cables shall be connected to the

outer wiring terminals and the near cables to the inner wiring
terminals.

11. The power lugs shall be close to the cabinet wiring panel and the
incoming mode of the power cables shall be consistent to their
cabling mode.

12. The protective ground cables shall be yellow-green cables, with a


cross sectional area of 16mm2.

13. It is prohibited to connect the protective ground cables of different


racks in series.

14. For the indoor ground bar, each ground bolt can only connect one
protective ground cable.

4.5 Fiber Tails and Trunk Cables


1. Protection tubes shall be applied to the tail fibers at the place where
the tail fibers leave the fiber distribution box or when they are
outside the racks or distributed between the rack and the tail fiber
trough.

2. The end of the tail fiber protection tube that enters the rack or the
tail fiber trough shall be extended to the inside of the rack or tail
fiber trough and fixed. There shall be no weight on the protection
tube.

3. When the fiber is distributed via the fiber distribution box, the end of
the tail fiber protection tube shall not be more than 0.5m away from
the fiber distribution box.

4. The cable ties to fasten the tail fibers inside the rack shall be nylon
adhibit ties. And the tail fibers shall be able to be drawn freely in the
cable ties.

5. The tail fibers shall be laid straightly. There shall be no other cables
on their top. And they shall be kept from the sharp edges of other
objects.

6. The cut end of the protection tube shall be neat without burrs. The
joint between two tubes shall be wrapped with electrical insulating

tapes to avoid damages to the tail fibers.

7. The excessive tail fibers shall be coiled inside the tail fiber box, or
coiled with a diameter over 80mm and then fixed.

8. The idle optical connectors shall be covered by protective tubes.

9. The cut end of the trunk cable shall not hurt the core wires.

10. The welding joints of the trunk cables shall not have open joints,
false welding, missing welding, wrong welding, or mixed welding.
The cores shall closely fit with the terminals. The welding point shall
not have sharp edge or lump, and the insulation layer of the cable
shall not be burned during welding. The exposed copper wires shall
not be longer than 2mm.

11. The reserved cables on the back of the DDF and ODF terminal
plates shall be neat with consistent radian and length. The length of
the reserved cables shall ensure that the terminal plates can be
freely turned in debugging.

4.6 Outdoor Optical Fibers


1. When the optical fibers in the rack are fastened by ties, the ties
shall not be too tight and the optical fibers can move flexibly in the
ties. The naked fiber tails should be wrapped with nylon hook-and-
loop tapes before fastening them.

2. There shall be no other cables on the top of the outdoor cables.


And they shall be kept from the sharp edges of other objects. The
bending diameter of the optical fibers shall be at least 80mm.

3. Sufficient outdoor optical cables shall be laid in the equipment room


and the surplus part shall be coiled near the outdoor RRU.

4. The idle optical connectors shall be covered by protective jackets.

5. Proper lengths should be reserved when the trunk cables and


outdoor optical cables are laid so that the connectors will not be
pulled by the tense cables.

Chapter 5 Assembly, Labels and Others


5.1 Equipment and Assembly
1. The rack and cabinet surfaces shall all be clean.

2. The racks and cabinets shall not be seriously damaged or


deformed and shall be without scratches or paint fall-off. The places
where the paint has fallen off shall be re-painted in the same color.

3. The components, accessories and fittings shall be firmly mounted.


The inspection scope covers shelves, springs on the doors, screws,
handles, fixing parts, reinforcement screws, reinforcement bolts,
ground cables, bolts of ground cables and so on.

4. At least one antistatic wrist strap shall be equipped in each


operation plane in each rack. The ESD jacks must be installed
firmly. The straps shall be attached to the grounded shells of the
shelves.

5. The air intake and outtake of fans shall not be blocked.

6. All dummy extractors and the blank filler panels should be installed.

7. The connectors shall all be securely connected, the bolts fixing the
boards shall all be tightened, and the fastening clips shall be in
position and not damaged.

8. Protection caps shall be applied to the idle optical fibers, optical


interfaces and sockets.

9. All the idle power supply breakers shall be disconnected.

10. The auxiliary equipment for the main equipment shall all be
installed.

11. The equipment room shall be clean and neat, and such sundries as
waste packaging cases shall be removed. The redundant or spare
installation materials shall be placed in order.

12. All the fixing bolts shall be screwed tightly. If there is a force
moment requirement, they shall be screwed to the specific force
moment.

5.2 Labels
1. All labels must be standard ZTE private labels. And indoor labels
shall be printed.

2. The label should mark out the equipment name (number) and the
interface position as detailed as possible, such as “Equipment
name (number) – Interface No.” It is prohibited to use simple
numbers to mark the labels.

3. The labels shall be pasted in the same direction, with the side
indicating the cable direction upward or facing the maintenance and
operation plane for the convenience of reading.

4. Both ends of the power cables, ground cables shall be labeled, with
the labels 20mm away from the cable ends.

5. The optical fibers shall bear tags or labels. The labels shall be
pasted 20mm away from the connectors.

6. The digital trunk cables shall bear clear labels and the labels shall
be pasted 20mm away from the joints.

7. No label should be pasted and no mark should be written on the


board. If it is required, the handwriting should be neat and the
labels should be pasted tidily.

5.3 Others
1. The power wiring studs outside the equipment and on the battery
rack shall have insulation protection.

2. Dust-proof measures shall be taken for the idle optical and electric
connectors (sockets).

3. All the connectors and their fixing bolts shall be screwed down
securely.

4. The specification of the fuse shall comply with the nominal capacity.
