ABOUT ISO 14001

Its a Environmental Management System Standard


Initially published in 1996
Second revision in 2004
ISO 14001:2015 is the latest version released in September,15
The standard provides practical tools for companies and
organizations of all kinds looking to manage their
environmental responsibilities.

structured and documented approach to the
management of environmental affairs
Internationally accepted standard for
implementation of effective environmental
management system
Its purpose is to protect the environment and to
respond to changing environmental conditions
ISO 14001 applies to all types of organizations

GENERIC STANDARD

ISO 14001:2015 is a generic standard.


Generic means that the same standards can
be applied:
to any organization, large or small,
whatever its product or service,
in any sector of activity, and
whether it is a business enterprise, a public
administration, or a government department
