St. Phocas Workday
To all the members of the St. Phocas Group, or anyone who
wants to join us, there is a workday planned for Saturday, May
31st, from 8:00 to 11:00. Please bring your pruning shears,
pitchforks, shovels, wheel-barrows, tarps, trowels, hard rakes,
gloves and your love for the church grounds. If you don’t
have the tools, come anyway and do what you can to help.
We will mainly be spreading mulch.

someone (or several people) who can bring
their own pressure washer and clean the
patio and walkways The church will supply
the cleaning agents.
Religious Education News
Parish School of Religion Registration for 2008-2009
Registration for PSR is being held between April 20 and June 1,
2008. Early registration ensures the proper allocation of re-
sources so that the parish has the ability to run an effective PSR
program. Tuition must accompany the registration form. Any
registration received after June 1 will be charged a late fee of
$15 PER CHILD. New parishioners who have registered with
the Parish after the June 1 deadline will not be charged the late
fee. Tuition is as follows: One Child-$45—Two Children-$75—
Three or more Children-$100. Registration forms and PSR
Handbooks are available in the narthex or from Deacon Gayle
or the church office.
Women’s Faith Formation for 2008
The next meeting of Women's Faith Formation will take place
on Monday evening, June 2, 2008 at 7:00 pm in room 3. We are
discussing the book, Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World,
by Joanna Weaver. All women of the parish are invited to come.

God’s BIG BACKYARD Where kids have a blast serving Jesus!
Vacation Bible School at St. Matthew June 9-13, 2008 from 9:00
am to noon.Registration is underway and will continue until
June 1st. If you register before May 18th you’ll receive a free tee
shirt. After the 18th tee shirts cannot be ordered so register
early. Registration fee is $15/first child, $10/each additional
child per family and is open to parishioners and friends outside
the parish ages 4 to 5th grade. Contact Kiki Kane at

to have a pre-school (3 year old) class—space is limited so regis-
ter early!

The following is a list of supplies needed for “God’s Big Back-
yard”: shredded wheat cereal, marshmallow cream, E.L. Fudge
cookies, fruit Newton cookies, mini marshmallows, gummi Life-
savers, decorating gels, graham crackers, pudding cups, raisins,
round crackers, spreadable cheese, shoestring licorice, mini
M&Ms, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, mara-
schino cherries, twin-size sheets in tan and blue, markers, quart
and gallon size plastic bags, 2 boxes craft sticks (plain wood), 3-5
bags dum-dum lollipops, white roll paper (for banner), white card-
stock, cheerful stickers, white posterboard, sandpaper, buttons,
scraps of felt, textured ribbon and lace, adhesive foam stickers,
pasta shells or twists, glue, swim rings, sponge/water balls, pool
(big enough to fit 3-5 rings), 5+ beach balls, 4 hula hoops, 2 big
appliance boxes, 2 jump ropes, old sheets, ribbon, bean bags or
sponge balls – 3 sets of 3 different colors, water balloons, plastic
