Instructions for using IT equipment and services


IT team coordinates:

Wireless Connections
All buildings on campus have wireless coverage. Users should connect to the network Snapdeal with active
directory username and password. If in case you dont remember your active directory password please
contact IT to reset password. Please refer attached manual for more details.

Wired Connections
Wired connection at Snapdeal is again protected by active directory username and password. All workstations
will be connected through IP phones for wired connectivity. After connecting your workstation to IP phone a
message will pop-up in the system tray on the lower right portion of your screen requesting additional
information, click on it.
Note: It may take a minute or so for this box to appear.
In the window that appears type in your Snapdeal Active directory username and password and click OK.
You should now be able to use the Snapdeal secure wired network (if not, try restarting the computer). Still
you are not able to connect to wired network, please contact IT.

IP Phones
IP phone is provided on all desks at Gurgaon desk. These phones dont have any xed extension number, as
the extension number is allocated to all users. Users can login to any desk phone with their assigned
extension number. Follow the login procedure in attached document for activation of your extension. Please
refer to welcome mail from IT for your extension number.

Printers
Network printers are located in convenient locations throughout the Gurgaon campus. Open Printers by
clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, and then clicking printers. Click
Add a printer. In the Add Printer Wizard, select Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer. In the list of
available printers, select the one you want to use, and then click Next. If your computer is connected to a
network, only printers listed in Active Directory for your domain are displayed in the list. If prompted, install
the printer driver on your computer. If you are prompted for an administrator password or conrmation, type
the password or provide conrmation. Please refer following pages for detail instruction on windows and
Ubuntu.

Connecting to the

Wireless Network in Ubuntu


The Snapdeal SSID is available anywhere on campus where wireless coverage is available. It
provides enhanced security using your domain username and password to authenticate to the
network.
1. Left-click the wireless Network Manager icon in the application panel at the top of your
screen.

2. Select Snapdeal from the list that pops up. If Snapdeal is not on the list, hover over "More
networks" at the bottom of the list, and select Snapdeal from the extended list that pops
up.
3. A box will pop up titled "Wireless Network Authentication Required".
Leave "Wireless security" set to WPA & WPA2 Enterprise.
Change Authentication to Protected EAP (PEAP).
Leave Anonymous identity blank.

4. In the two boxes labeled Username and Password, enter your Snapdeal Active Directory
username and password.
5. Finally, in the lower right-hand corner of the box, click Connect.
6. The wireless icon in the Application Panel should ash for a few seconds, and then a
pop-up message should conrm that you are connected to Snapdeal.

Connecting to the

Wireless Network in Windows


The Snapdeal SSID is available anywhere on campus where wireless coverage is available. It
provides enhanced security using your domain username and password to authenticate to the
network.
1. On the right side of the taskbar, you will see a wireless network icon like the one below.
Click on it.

2. A window with available network connections will open, as you can see from the
screenshot below. Select Snapdeal and click Connect.

3. After a few seconds, you will be asked to enter the username and password Users should
enter active directory username and password. After entering the password it might pop
up another dialog box which says, "connect" please click on "connect". If in case you
dont remember your active directory password please contact IT to reset password.

Give it up to a minute to completely connect. You should now be connected to


Snapdeal network.

User Manual for

Cisco IP Phone 7811

Login Process:
1. Press the settings button.
2. Browse down through the menu and select "Extension Mobility".
3. After you select Extension Mobility you will be prompted for User ID.
4. Enter your User ID. You need to enter 10134.
5. After entering your User ID browse down and enter your PIN.
6. By default your PIN is set to "12345".
7. After entering the PIN press the "SUBMIT" button.
8. After you press the Submit button the phone will display "Login Successful".
9. After your Login the phone will "Restart".
10. After Restart your Extension will be displayed on the Phone.

Logout Process:
1. Press the settings button.
2. Browse down through the menu and select "Extension Mobility".
3. After you select Extension Mobility the phone will ask for conrmation to Logout.
4. After you press "Yes" you will be logged out.
5. After Logout the phone will restart and return back to normal state.

How to Change Your PIN


1. While you are logged in press the settings button.
2. Select Option 5 for Extension Mobility.
3. Press the SoftKey which shows Set PIN at top.
4. Enter your Current PIN
5. Enter your New PIN and Conrm.

Host a Meet Me Conference


Procedure1
Step 1

Obtain a Meet Me phone number from your system administrator.

Step 2

Distribute the Meet Me phone number to participants.

Step 3

When you are ready to start the meeting, lift the handset to get a dial tone and
press twice top right soft key to get Meet Me option

Step 4

Dial the Meet Me phone number.

Join a Meet Me Conference


Procedure 1
Step 1

Dial the Meet Me phone number that the conference host provides.

Step 2

If you hear a busy tone, the host has not yet joined the conference. In this case,
hang up and try your call again.

Conference (not for outside line)


Conference allows you to talk simultaneously with multiple parties.
When you are on a call, you can use Conference to dial another party and add the party to
the call. Alternately, if you have multiple phone lines, you can use Conference to combine
calls across two lines.
Before you complete a conference procedure, you can press the Cancel softkey to cancel the
procedure. You can also press the Swap softkey to toggle between calls and allowing you to
speak privately with each party.

Add Third Party to Conference


Procedure 2
Step 1

Verify that you are on an active call (not on hold).

Step 2

Press Conference.

Step 3

Enter the phone number for the party that you want to add or press a speed
dial button.

Step 4

Wait for the party to answer, or skip to step 5 while the call is ringing.

Step 5

Press Conference again.The conference begins.

Step 6

(Optional) Repeat these steps to add more parties, if desired.

Remove Conference Participant


Procedure
Step 1

While you are in a conference, press Details to view a list of participants.

Step 2

Highlight the participant that you want to remove, then press Remove.

Note

The person who creates the conference can only view the Remove softkey.

Search for a User


1. Press the Directory Button
2. Select Option 2 Corporate Directory
3. Enter Search Criteria and Press the Search Softkey

and does not support headset.

1 Dial
To place a call, pick up the handset and enter a number.
Or, try one of these alternatives.

Redial the Last Number


To redial on your primary line, press Redial. To redial
on a secondary line, press the line button and then
press Redial.
Dial On-Hook
1. Enter a number when the phone is idle.
2. Lift the handset or press one of these: a line

or the Select button.

Note

Speed Dial
Enter a speed-dial item number and press SpeedDial.
Or, press the down arrow on the Navigation ring when
the phone is idle, scroll to a speed-dial item, and press
the Select button or Call. You may also have speed
dials assigned to some buttons on your phone.

2 Answer
The new call indicators are: a flashing amber line
and caller ID, and a
button, an animated icon
flashing red light on your handset.
To answer the call, lift the handset. Or, press the
flashing amber line button, Answer, the unlit headset
button, or the speakerphone button.

Answer with Multiple Lines


If you are on a call when you get another call, a
message appears briefly on the phone screen. Press the
flashing amber line button to answer the second call
and put the first call on hold automatically.
Your administrator sets up your phone to support one
call per line or multiple calls per line.

For best results, print on 8.5 x 14


(legal-sized) paper.

View and Remove Participants


During a conference, press Details. To remove a
participant from the conference, scroll to the
participant and press Remove.

7 Voicemail

Transfer Across Lines


You can transfer a call from one line to another without
remaining on the call yourself. The Cisco IP Phone
7811 does not support transfer across lines.
1. From an active call (not on hold), press Transfer
.
2. Press the line button for the other (held) call. The
transfer completes.

5 Conference
1. From an active call (not on hold), press
.
Conference
2. Make a new call.
3. Press the Conference button or softkey before or
after the party answers. The conference begins and
the phone displays Conference.
4. Repeat these steps to add more participants.
The conference ends when all participants hang up.

Conference Across Lines


You can combine two calls on two lines into a
conference. You are included in the conference. The
Cisco IP Phone 7811 does not support conference calls
on separate lines.
1. From an active call (not on hold), press
Conference
.

New message indicators are: a solid red light on your


handset, a stutter dial tone (if available), and the New
Voicemail message and icon.

Listen to Messages
Press Messages
and follow the voice prompts. To
check messages for a specific line, press the line button
first.

8 Decline
Press Decline when the call is ringing, active, or on
hold. Decline redirects an individual call to voicemail
or to another number set up by your system
administrator.

9 Forward All
1. To forward calls received on your primary line to
another number, press Fwd All.
2. Enter a phone number or press Messages
forward all calls to voicemail.

4. To cancel call forwarding, press Fwd Off.
To set up forwarding remotely or on a secondary line,
access your Cisco Unified Communication Manager
Self Care portal or User Options web pages. Contact
your system administrator for details.

Your phone displays the last 150 missed, placed, and


received calls.

If you share a line with a coworker, the line button


indicates call activity on the shared line:

View Your Call History


1. Perform one of the following actions:
When the phone is idle, press Recents.
Press Applications

Flashing amber: There is an incoming call on the


shared line. You or your coworker can answer the
call.

Solid red line button: Your coworker is talking on


the shared line.

Flashing red line button: Your coworker put a call


on hold on the shared line. You or your coworker
can resume the call.

3. To view details for a call, scroll to the call, press
more, and then press Details.
4. To return to your call history, press Back

Volume
The Volume bar is located to the left of the keypad.

To adjust the handset, headset, or speakerphone


volume, press the Volume bar when the phone is
in use.

To adjust the ringer volume, press the Volume bar


up or down.

To silence the phone when ringing, press the


Volume bar down one time. Pressing multiple
times lowers the ringer volume.

View All Calls


When the phone is idle and all menus closed, press the
up arrow on the Navigation ring.
Dial From Your Call History
1. View your call history, or navigate to your missed
or placed calls.
2. Scroll to a listing and lift the handset, or press a
line button or the Select button.
To edit a number before dialing, press more >
EditDial.

1. Press Contacts

2. Choose a directory.
3. Use your keypad to input search criteria.

Ringtone
1. Press Applications

2. Choose Preferences > Ringtone.


3. (Optional) Select a line.
4. Scroll through the list of ringtones and press Play
to hear a sample.
5. Press Set and Apply to save a selection.

Screen contrast
1. Press Applications

2. Choose Preferences > Contrast.

4. Press Submit.

3. Press the Navigation ring up or down to adjust the


contrast.

5. To dial, scroll to a listing and press Dial.

14 Navigation
Where Are My Line Buttons?
Line buttons on the Cisco IP Phone 7821, 7841, and
7861 are located on both sides of the phone screen. The
Cisco IP Phone 7811 does not have line buttons.
Buttons that are not assigned to phone lines can be
used for speed-dials and other features. Contact your
system administrator for more information.

Where Are My Softkeys?


Four softkey buttons are located below the phone
screen. You can press (when available) to reveal
additional softkeys.
How do I scroll in a list or menu?
Press up or down on the Navigation ring.

15 Tips
How Can I Manage Multiple Calls?
Line button colors indicate call states and can help you
stay oriented when handling multiple calls:

Ringing call: Flashing amber

Connected call: Solid green

Held call: Flashing green

Shared line in-use remotely: Solid red

Shared line on hold remotely: Flashing red

How Do I Use My Headset?


If you handle a lot of calls and wear a headset, keep the
headset button
lit and use softkeys to go on- and
off-hook. With the headset button lit, your headset
serves as the primary audio path instead of the
speakerphone or handset.
The Cisco IP Phone 7811 does not support a headset.

A scroll bar on the screen indicates your relative


position within a list.

How Do I Select an Item?


With the item highlighted, press the Select button. Or,
use your keypad to enter the corresponding item
number.

How Do I Exit a Menu?


To close a menu from any level, press the
corresponding feature button.
To go back one level in a menu, press Exit or Back
.

What Does the Swap Softkey Do?


Swap allows you to toggle between calls and consult
privately with each party before completing a transfer
or conference.
How Do I Set Up Speed Dials?
To set up speed dials and customize a variety of
features and settings for your phone, use a web
browser on your computer to access your Cisco
Unified Communications Manager Self Care portal or
User Options web pages.

Using the list of contacts to call

To search for someone, tap here to invoke the virtual keyboard


and then key in the name or number. Matches will appear as you
type. All three lists will be examined for possible matches.

If you are going to


list only, tap the
corresponding
When an entry has been located and
selected the Call menu will appear.

Any matches will


appear here. Tap to
select an entry. The
selected entry will
appear on a blue
background.

Tap Call to place the call. There are


some options available. These are always
context sensitive, which means that
meaningless options are not shown. For
example Add to Favorites is not available
for entries already residing in the list of
Favorites .

To locate an entry, you may also scroll


through a list as you would do on a
smartphone. Tap to select an entry.

Calling someone

Tap Dial , as outlined.

Sharing content
Make sure your presentation source is switched on and connected to
the video system before you tap Presentation .

Connect your source and


make sure it is switched on.
Tap
Share ( a), then scroll
horizontally ( b) to locate
the presentation source, if
needed. Once located tap
the required source.
Key in the number, as
outlined.
Tap the three small dots ( ... ),
to acess the menu allowing
you to preview or to share
the content of the selected
source.

When the number has


been keyed in, tap the
Call key to place the
call.

Tap
Preview , if you want to
check what you will share
before you share it, and then
