Myexperienceasaveterinarianhasmademeagoodlistenerandbetterabletoexplainsome
complicatedmaterialinawaypeopleunderstandandhaveconfidencein.Theseskillsare

Ihaveraisedafamilywhentimesweretough.Ihavenotbeeningovernmentservicemywhole
life.Iknowwhatitislikeasafamilymanandsmallbusinesspersontolivewiththedecisions
legislatorsmake.Unlikemyopponent,Ihavesupportacrossthespectrum.Ihavemadetough
progressivevotesinCongressfortheRecoveryAct,theAffordableCareAct,renewableenergy,

andvotedtoreininWallStreet.Thesewereverycontroversialinthisdistrict.Iamtheonly
Democratintheracethatmatchesthedistrictandcanwin.

StudentSucceedsAct.WhileimportanttoreplaceNoChildLeftBehind,weneedtoensure
thenewactdeliversforourstudents,parents,teachersandcommunities.Weneedtopass
mybillsallowingstudentstorefinanceloansattodayslowerinterestratesandhavethe
federalgovernmentpayitsshareofspecialeducationsostatedollarsgofurtherinthe
classroom.
