IMEC PAPER TEMPLATE

Paper Length
While the length of the full paper should not exceed more than 10 pages, it is recognized that this
may present some challenges for papers that contain a large number of graphs and equations.
Authors who may require additional pages should contact the IMEC PapCom by email, prior to
preparing their final manuscripts.
Style of Writing
All papers are to be submitted in the English language using either UK or US spelling. Authors
must agree that their submitted papers may be edited for style and language as a condition of
acceptance for inclusion in the IMEC Conference Proceedings. Authors are responsible for the
accuracy of content.
Graphs, Figures, Photographs and Illustrations
In order to be consistent, all graphs and figures should contain only English labels. Figures should
be consecutively numbered starting with number 1 (Fig. 1 .. n) and should be appropriately
annotated. Annotations should be in 11 pt and bold with the first letter only capitalized (Fig. n
Description of figure content). All graphs, figures, photographs and illustrations must be referred
to in the text using the number assigned to each.
Graphics, figures, photographs and illustrations should be embedded in your digital file. In
addition, where available, all graphs, tables, photographs and illustrations should be included as
separate files. Images should be at 300 dpi resolution and in cmyk format if possible. The
following are acceptable formats for images: .jpg / .jpeg / .bmp / .png / .tif / .eps /
Paper Submission
Papers and associated files can be submitted through e-mail as attached files.
Be sure to include the name of the Primary Author as part of the file name (eg.
Smith_John_paper.doc ). The maximum file size that can be received is approximately 10
megabytes. Please contact IMEC PapCom to make alternate arrangements for submitting papers
that exceed 10 megabytes in size.
All submitted papers will receive a confirmation email as they are received. It is imperative that
authors contact the PapCom if they do not receive an email confirming that their paper has been
received.
Equations
Equations should be prepared using the equation editor in MS-Word. Equations should be
presented as follows.

the above. The equations, where they are referred to in the text, should be numbered sequentially
and their identifier enclosed in parenthesis, right-side justified. The symbols, where referred to in
the text, should be italicized.

Reviews, Copyright and Publication of Papers

Abstracts received by the indicated deadlines will be reviewed to determine suitability for
inclusion in IMEC Conference Proceedings. As a condition of acceptance, authors will be
required to sign and submit a copyright release form indicating that they are either the sole
copyright owner of the work or that they have received approval from the owner (s) of any
material that has been included in their paper.

References (description)
All sources in the reference list MUST be cited in the text. The in-text citation should appear in
square brackets [ ] as shown in the following example. According to Smith [1] there are a
number of possible solutions. All entries in the Reference list should be consistent with the
examples provided below. Citations must be numbered consecutively in the text and the number
should be enclosed in brackets. This should be followed by each authors last name and initial(s)
terminated by a period and the list of authors terminated with a comma. The book titles should be
in italics, followed by a period. Proceedings or journal titles should be in italics. Only the first
letter of the title should be capitalized in the article name.
