Quality of Facilities in Three Hotels


Table 1 shows rating of facilities in three hotels in 2012 while Table 2 shows rates of deluxe room,
promotions and number of hotel guests in 2012. Rating of facilities, room rate and promotions have
influenced the number of guests in 2012.
Hotel Z topped of the list with 6 out of 7 facilities rated as excellent which attracted 6000 hotel
guests in 2012. The room rate for deluxe room (RM500 per night) at Hotel Z was the highest and
offered the lowest number of promotion in 2012 (3).
Hotel Y had the least number of hotel guests (4000) although the room rate for deluxe room
(RM250 per night) was the lowest and offered the most number of promotion in 2012 (10). The poor
ratings by the hotel guests for Hotel Y were probably due to low standard of facilities with 4 out of 7
facilities were rated as poor.
The facilities in Hotel X were mostly rated good by hotel guests that were 5 out of 7 with 2 other
facilities rated as excellent and this attracted the highest number of hotel guests (8000).
In conclusion, the number of hotel guests is influenced by the rating of facilities, room rate and
promotions.
