REDUCTION OF DOWNTIME IN
MTN NETWORK, PORT HARCOURT.
Opportunity/Problem Statement:
The project is aimed at reducing downtime of Cell sites on MTN sites in
Port Harcourt Region. Reduction of downtime on cell sites invariably
spells out to increased uptime/ availability of cell sites, which translates
to a higher possibility of usage/ traffic, and increased revenue
generation.
Business Case/Impact:
Reduction of downtime would lead to a better quality network, with
higher Call Success rates, low dropped call rates, and specifically
increase revenue of MTN in Port Harcourt region. A reduction in
downtime by 3 percent would increase revenues by at least N50 million.
If we can do this without increasing our capital expenditure, we should
realize a net gain of at least N35 million.
