INDUSTRIAL TRAINING FINAL REPORT

INSTRUCTION
1. Report must be typed on A4 paper in Arial font 11. Line spacing is to be kept at 1.5
throughout. Left margin is 35 mm and right margin is 25 mm.
2. Refer to the Final Report Template for the Cover Page format.
3. Content of report:
Abstract
This section may contain the details of the organisation, summary of the training,
experience gained and acknowledgement.
Table of Contents
This section must contain the listing of chapters, titles, sub-titles and the page
numbers including the details of Appendices if any.
Objective
This section contains the objective of report and also the objectives of industry
training.
Organisation Profiles
This section contains the background information of the organisation which includes
the details of activities undertaken by the organisation, number of persons
employed, future business strategies, organisational details, duties, responsibilities,
details of supervisor etc.
Overview of the training
This section should describe the duties and various tasks undertaken by the student
during the industrial training. The explanations must follow the schedule as
recorded in the logbook. Leave of absence (if any) should be indicated here along
with reasons, explanation and approval evidences.

Details of Experience
The experience gained during the industrial training must be described in this
section. Details of projects completed, supervisory roles taken up (if any),
estimation, costing, and design works completed and the experience gained
thereon should be described in a concise manner. The problems encountered and
the approach adopted for solving problems are also to be described in this section.
The professional and ethical issues, health and environmental issues that are
encountered during the training and how they were tackled should be clearly
explained. The attitude and commitment portrayed are also to be indicated
wherever appropriate. The report must be concise, according to the recommended
format. The report will be evaluated based on the rubrics provided or as shown
below:

This section is an overall wrap up on the industrial training including emphasise on
the major tasks carried out, major contribution to the organisation, comments on the
tasks performed, recommendations and other highlights.

The list of references used in preparing the final report is to be listed in this section.
Appendix
Any other relevant details that are relevant to support the write up of the report are
to be included in this section. It may include important drawings, design details,
copies of letters, project reports, Figures, Tables, List of symbols and notations etc.
Each appendix must have a title and must be referred to in the main pages
whenever appropriate. All page numbers for appendices must be continued from
the main pages.
