PETROLEUM BITUMENS oil refinery residual products having hard or viscous consistency
and composed of hydrocarbons and heteroatomic (oxygen, sulfur, nitrogen, metal-containing) compounds. According to production method petroleum bitumens are divided into residual, oxidized, and
compound (blended). Residual bitumens are produced by deep vacuum distillation of atmospheric
residue; oxidized by vacuum residue oxidation with atmospheric oxygen; compound by blending
the above two kinds in required proportions. By major fields of use bitumens are divided into road,
roofing, construction, and special bitumens.

DIESEL FUEL liquid petroleum product used as fuel in stationary and mobile diesel engines of
various purpose: power generators, water, railway, road transport (passenger cars and automotive
trucks). Produced by blending hydrotreated straight-run kerosene and gasoil cuts with additives. By
conditions of use summer, winter and arctic diesel fuel grades are distinguished. Besides, depending
on sulfur content there are several environmental classes of diesel fuel.

OILS a broad class of products having mineral, synthetic and semisynthetic composition. Their
common property is hydrophoby insolubility in water. Usage of this property in different areas
determines a large variety and diversity of oils. Main types of oils are lubricating (for friction reduction between moving parts), preserving (for prevention of air and corrosive aqueous solutions impact
on surfaces), insulating (oil is used as dielectric), heat transfer agents, coolant-lubricants, and hydraulic oils. Oils can also be applied in chemical synthesis and as a fuel.
Goods produced.
a) Industrial oils distillate petroleum oils of low and medium viscosity (5-50 mm/s at 50 C) used
as lubricants mainly on friction joints of machines, fans, pumps, textile machines, and also as a basis
for hydraulic fluids, plastic and process lubricants.

SULFURIC ACID is an oil-refining by-product, obtained by wet catalysis from hydrogen sulfide of
fuels hydrotreatment. Due to the nature of raw material petroleum-derived sulfuric acid has high purity, which determines the diversity of applications. The main consumer of sulfuric acid is mineral fertilizers production, it is also used in organic and inorganic synthesis, production of fibers, colorants,
explosives, catalysts and adsorbents, in food and pharmaceutical industries, etc.

HEAVY FUELS. Heavy fuels in this catalogue nominally include petroleum products having residual straight-run fractions and secondary processes residues as basis, which initial boiling point is
above 350 . Such fuels are used at power plants for heat and electricity production. A certain
amount of light gasoil (diesel) cuts is added to reduce viscosity. Today their usage is cut down due to
ecological reasons, because such fuels combustion is associated with higher pollutants emission than
light petroleum fuels. However, several kinds of heavy fuels also present in OJSC Naftan product
range.

h) Wide fraction of light hydrocarbons is a blend of liquefied petroleum gases and heavier hydrocarbons (C2-C6 and higher), produced while processing of associated petroleum gas, petroleum and gas
condensate. It is a feedstock for individual hydrocarbons production: 3, 4, i-C4, 5, i-5, 5+, as
well as a feedstock for pyrolysis.
