OVERVIEW
In the starting of June 2015,Tanmay Sardana obtained and began analysis on a set of documents
procured from John Fox. The hope was to provide an analysis of an Online Opportunity Log
Software System which John Fox would use to standardise, unify, and automate their operational
processes.This project revolves around tracking suppliers that may have interest in working on a
project with the company.
The following descriptions are provided to begin the analysis on determining all components
needed by such a system.
POINTS OF ANALYSIS
During the analysis of documents provided to Tanmay, the following observations were made. (Use
of internal and external users refers to admin/managers and member/affiliated/bidding parties,
respectively.)
- The software used now - Excel - allows the customer to track activity of potential suppliers.
- The firm wants to use an Online Software System to replace Excel.
- Excel permits a lot of flexibility in terms of adding,editing,deleting columns of data to collect so
this functionality will need to be in the system.
- If opportunities are to be imported spreadsheet may be used.
- When data in the opportunities sheet is to be imported certain columns need to be laid out in the
system with matching headings. All the data in the columns gets filled in matching headings
automatically, when the spreadsheet is imported.
- Activities to ensure that suppliers are tracked are from the beginning (attracting suppliers)
through the end (awarding a winning bid or announcing a loss) and everything in between.
- Reporting on the data collected.
- Management of access to the system.
- Will need a registration page and an account profile for Suppliers, who will be assigned to
various entities by the administrator.
- Once a supplier has been selected, no more tracking is done.
