Required Tools
1. Small Screw Driver.
2. Needle Nose Pliers.
3. T-10 Torx screwdriver.
4. Lubricant, 6040-1322, when necessary.

Removing the Case Parts:

Remove the 4 T-10 screws, which are holding the Top Case to the Base.
Lift the Top Case Assembly from the unit.
Lift the out-tray from the printer
Remove the cleanout assembly by pressing the tab towards the center of the
printer and pull out the rear access door from the printer.

Access Door Removal

With the access door halfway open, pull the access door from the two hinges.

Input Tray Extension Removal

Remove the Input Extension from the Out-tray by pressing inwards at the
center until the extension tab snaps out from the in-tray.
Lift up to remove Extension from Out-tray assembly.

Removing the Carriage Mechanism


1. Remove the two Platen Screws.
2. Remove the three Machine Screws.
3. To remove backbone from the printer; lift and rotate the backbone assembly from
the left wall until the left front corner of the backbone is displaced from the sheet
metal tab.
4. While resting the backbone assembly on the base, unplug the Carriage Motor
Cable connector from the Logic PCA.
5. Use needle nose pliers to unplug the flex cable connector from the Logic PCA.

Removing the Paper Pick Assembly


1. Unplug the OOPS flag sensor from the Logic PCA.
2. Unhook the Wiper Scraper from the right wall.
3. To remove the Wiper Sled push the wiper sled forward with your fingers and at
the same time using a small screwdriver to lift the front section until it clears off the
base structure.
4. Unlock left bearing from the left wall and remove the screw from the right wall
5. Lift the Paper Pick Assembly from the printer chassis, and check that the Service
Drive Gear is disconnected from the Wiper Shift Plate.

Removing the Capping Station


1. Use a small flat screwdriver to unlatch the Sled Holder Cap from the Base.
2. Unlatch the capping station from the left wall.

Removing the Paper Motor Assembly


1. Unplug the Paper Motor connector from Logic PCA.
2. Remove the screw that secures Paper Motor Assembly to Base.
3. Tilt the Paper Motor Assembly and remove from Base.

Removing the Logic PCA

Unplug the Door OOPS cable from the PCA.


Remove the button from the Base.
Remove the screw that secures the Logic PCA to Base.
Lift-up Logic PCA and remove from Base.
