Main focus: to use the articles a/an, this/that correctly in sentences.
Objectives:
A) Cognitive objectives: by the end of the lesson Ss will have:
1) used articles correctly in sentences;
2) used this/that in sentences;
3) developed their speaking skills;
4) developed their writing skills.
B) Affective objectives:
1) to create a warm atmosphere in order to offer the background for smooth, easy
conversations between teacher and students
2) to make students confident in themselves when speaking a foreign language.
Skills: listening, speaking, reading, writing
Interaction: T- Ss, Ss-T, Ss-Ss.
Assumed knowledge: - I assume that students have already used the article in sentences
before although they might not know the rules which applies to each article; the students
already know most of the classroom objects.
Anticipated problems: - the students might not know all the objects from the pictures;
- if she thinks it is necessary, the teacher will offer the students guidance in solving
certain exercises;
- some Ss might have problems when working in pairs;
- a few among the Ss may be given supplementary explanations in Romanian.
Assessment activity: the students will be assessed on class participation.
Teaching techniques: conversation, dialogue, exercise, exposing.
Methods of teaching: Communicative Approach
Teaching aids: realia, blackboard, pictures, posters, students notebooks and books.
