I think its fantastic, Carter said. I think it just shows that
were doing what we should do. Were giving the customers the
best value, giving them the best carpet cleaning there is and obviously giving them excellent customer service as well.
Customer service is the bottom line for Carters Carpet Restoration; this, paired with a unique cleaning technique that allows for
faster carpet drying times is a winning combination in Carters book.
Thats where it starts and end, Carter said. We do steam
cleaning, but its a super deep cleaning and an incredibly fast dry
time. The carpets are actually dry to the touch before we leave the
home, which is very unique to this industry.

Its a complete washing of the fiber, Carter said. We follow up
with a call anywhere from a couple to ten days afterwards to make

Sutter Street Cigars was voted this years best cigar/smoke shop in Folsom in the
Folsom Telegraphs annual Best of the Best contest.
The cigar shop opened its doors back in June of 2014 and sells anything from
cigars/cigarettes to lighters to snacks and soft drinks.
We focus on connecting with the community, said owner Shaun Rehmani. We
focus on customer service and giving them what they want when they want it. We
are family owned and we can really cater to people and help them out.
Rehmani said they are very excited about winning this year.
It makes us feel good to be thought of and recognized after working so hard,
he said. We have really great customers and we are really lucky and grateful!
The Rehmani family got into the business because of the start of vaping and they
wanted to help people quit smoking, he said.

When it comes to live music at upscale venues in the

area, Cynthia Renee and Company has become one of
the areas most popular artists. This year, the local singer-songwriter was voted the best local band in Folsom
and El Dorado Hills by readers of the Telegraph.
I cant thank our local fans enough for voting us
the Best of the Best this year in Folsom and El Dorado
Hills, said Renee. We play in all different areas but
this is our home and were truly flattered and honored
to be chosen.
While her roots are embedded in contemporary Christian music since she began singing as a child in her
grandfathers church in the small community of Grizzly
Flats, Renee performs a broad spectrum of genres from
current country tunes, pop and rock hits to well known
songs of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Additionally, she has a
handful of original songs that she has written including
Where Are You Now and The Journey that have been

Luckys opened up about five and half
years ago and has succeeded ever since
with barbering.
We cater to mens haircuts and we
are more about quality over quantity, said owner Aaron Ralls. A lot of
places will get you in and out, and we
spend our time on you and you dont get
charged more for it.
Ralls said he is so excited about winning, especially this year.
We didnt even tell anyone to vote for
us, he said. If we did some marketing,

we definitely would have won, so when I

heard we won without any of that, I was
so surprised!
Ralls said he always has been into
the traditional Americano aspect of barbering and it is pretty recession-proof
industry.

best French restaurant in Folsom in
the Folsom Telegraphs annual Best
of the Best contest. La Charenton
opened their doors in May of 2015
and serves the finest French dishes.
Owner Steven Long said he is

I strived to be, he said. I never
considered it a French restaurant,
but then I realized I use a French

chain and he doesnt do it for the
pay check, he does it because he

I have been in the industry my
entire life, Long said. I focused on

that Le Charenton was named after a lunatic asylum because you
have to be a little crazy to be in this
industry, Long said.

It Takes The Village, self-described as a

therapeutic community for families needing extra help won first place in the Best
Child Development Specialist in Folsom and
El Dorado Hills and Best Family Counseling
in Folsom and El Dorado Hills categories.
True to form, Wendy Pickren who heads the
groups occupational therapy department
expressed her hope that the win would be
reinvested into the community.
Were very excited, Pickren said. Were
hoping that it helps more people become
aware of the services that we have so we
can help more families.
Now in its fourth year, It Takes The Village
has been led successfully by Pickren and
her cofounder Amy Washburn, who leads the
counseling department; the two have been
20 years of experience practicing in their
fields. This experience and passion is something they poured into It Takes The Village.
We do it because we love it and we

formed The Village because we wanted to

find a better way to serve these families that
have multiple levels of need, Pickren said.
Pickren also emphasized one of It Takes
The Villages unique aspects was the fact
that their organization utilizes multiple services for families at one, so that services
can be provided simultaneously.
We find you access the childs need more
effectively that way, Pickren said. We
do an individualized approach in a social
context. Every person has their own unique
goals, and were working towards those
goals and keeping them in mind.
With multiple therapists, Pickren and
Washburn apply their skills to families,
children, adults with counseling needs and
also provide services to school districts to
assist children in an educational setting.
Their comprehensive approach continues to
impress families, individuals and the Folsom and El Dorado Hills communities alike.
