Movie Max 5 - Users Guide
THE HARDWARE LOCK SHOULD BE IN PLACE AT ALL TIMES AND IF THE

LOCK DOES NOT MAKE PROPER CONNECTION, THE SOFTWARE WILL
NOT WORK.
IMPORTANT: Before running Movie Max, make sure that the Dongle
provided in your installation packet is properly inserted into the 'Printer'
port of your computer. If the lock is inserted into the serial port, your
system and the lock can be damaged. If you have a USB lock, insert it into
the USB port via a USB cable to avoid it being damaged.

Product Registration Form
You can either select Playlist Based Playout Mode or the Calendar
Based Playout Mode in the Settings of Movie Max as per your
Channel Policy.
The second mode is the Calendar Based Playout Mode. Here

you can set Movies or Ads to be played at SET timings. Movie Max
will follow the System Time of your PC and always play as per the
set schedule.
The first is Playlist Based Playout Mode in which you make

Playlists of videos to be played for any session and start the
session. Playlists can be made of any length to play for days,
weeks and even months at a time. They can be changed and
edited one the fly when the videos are On-Air without your viewers
realizing it. This we believe is an ideal way of Channel Playout that
is followed by playout software used by satellite channels.
Movie Max gives you two modes of Channel Playout.
Very Important Note:
What's more it also displays Video ads & Scrolls at the bottom of the
screen on any Live source like cameras, DVD Players, VCRs or even
Satellite receivers through a normal TV Tuner card! So you need not
invest in additional Titlers and overlay boxes.
Movie Max is a digital video player for cable TV operators. With Movie
Max you need not worry about faulty VCRs', VHS tapes, VCD Players or
even the staff running your Cable Channel. All you have got to do is
load movies, songs, ads, promos for days on the computer, set the
Sequence and let Movie Max do the rest. Movie Max will play your
Movies, Songs along with Advertisements. What's more it also displays
Ad Scrolls at the bottom of the screen.
1. Introduction

number of hours you intend program
your channels for. One 80 GB HDD
commonly available in the markets can
store 128 hours of program available in
VCD format. Thus if you are intending
to program 16 days with 16 hours per
day without repetition of any programs,
you need to have 2 HDDs of 80 GB
each.

For Display Settings go to Start Settings - Control Panel - Display
Make sure that the Power Management System in the

Control Panel is changed to 'Always On' This is also an
important setting as if you keep the default Windows XP
settings, your PC will go on standby mode after a few
minutes and you will be wondering why your channel
stopped.
Do not set any screensaver for your system. By default

Windows XP sets a screen saver that will run a Screen
Saver Image or Animation after say 15 minutes. If this
happens during your Channel run, the video output will be
replaced by the screen saver on your network!
will be better. But it becomes better only for formats that

have the approximate dimensions to match 1024x768. If
you use DVD format which may be 720x576 then you are
bound to get pixellation in the video when you strect it to
1024x768 which may ultimately deteriorate the output
quality.
Keep clicking on Next and go

process takes less than 10

The wizard will take you through

the installation process.
You will receive the installation files of Movie Max on a CD. The CD will
have the Installation Setups of our other CATV related softwares along
with the Movie Max5 Setup exe file. Just insert this CD into the CDROM
and double click on the max5-full-setup.exe which is a self-running
setup file.
4. Installing Movie Max
Folder System in Calendar Based Playout Mode:

In case you plan to follow Calendar Based Playout Mode for Playout,
you can make subfolders inside the main folders. First make folders in
your drive as explained earlier. So if you have D:\HindiMovies you can

In case you plan to follow Playlist Mode for Playout, make folders in say
D Drive and name them as per the content you plan to have in it. Eg:
make a folder called HindiMovies in D drive so you have D:\HindiMovies
and store all Hindi Movies in it. Do Not Make Sub Folders in this
folder for movies Just copy the movie files and rename them
accordingly.
Always make folders in drive other than C: Drive. Since C Drive has
Windows installed on it (we recommend that you always install windows
on C Drive) and you may have to format this drive at times, it is a good
idea to have video files on all other dives.

Note: Most content available on DVD and VCDs are protected by

copyright laws. They may also be protected against copying using
various security devices. We request you to only use Copyright Free
Videos or purchase video rights from respective companies before
airing them and stay away from pirated videos. Trinity does not promote
piracy in any form. We also request you to abide by the respective laws
as applicable for the kind of content you plan to play on your channel.
In Case of DVDs, copy the VOB files available in the video_ts folder of
the DVD.
In case of movie files, you may find that each file is of around 1 hour
and you may need to break up the big file into smaller files of say 15
minutes duration so that you can run ads after each file. With Movie
Max you need NOT use a separate program to cut the files like VCD
Cutter, MPEG Editor, IFilmEdit or EZ View. These programs let you
select a part of the movie file and save that part as a separate mpg or
dat file but you spend time and hard disk space in doing so. Movie Max
lets you virtually cut movies into smaller parts by just specifying the
Mark-In and Mark-Out points of a video. This you can do while selecting
the video. We will discuss more on that feature later.
Always Copy the relevant files through Windows Explorer only. Usually
the video file names are not indicative of the contents in them so you
have to rename them for your convenience after copying. E.g. rename
VTS_01_2.VOB to SHOLAY2.VOB.
Once you install Movie Max, you will have to start building your
collection of Movies, Songs, Promos, etc by copying the relevant dat,
mpg, avi or mov files from the VCDs' or VOB files from the DVDs to
your system Hard disk.
We recommend that you always use Mpeg-2 quality files as they

give a superior quality than VCD Mpeg-1 (dat) files. DVDs
contain VOB files which are of Mpeg-2 format. However for
Mpeg-2 format to play properly with Movie Max or any other
Windows based software, you will have to set the decoders
properly. Some VOB files have encryption and may not be
playable.

own images in jpeg format.

Once you install Movie Max, run the program through the Start menu.
You will get the main menu of Movie Max.

In case of Calendar Based Playout Mode you can make sub folders
within the main folder as per the movie name. Eg In D:\Videos above,
you can make sub folders like Karz , Don and copy all related videos
files into it. Movie Max will automatically make playlists of such sub
Now on this form, click on the Select button and select the folder in
which you have copied your mpg or vob video files and give a short
name for that category in the Yellow box. We have entered Hindi Songs
as the short name here and D:\Videos as the Folder that has Videos.
First of all make

Then copy some 'mpg' or vob video files onto your computer hard disk
in the respective folders from a DVD

Lets go to Folders option on the main menu and specify the Video
paths required during programming of the channel.
7. Folders - Specifying Video Paths

This is the most interesting path. Here you select the path of your Full
Screen Video Ad (Spot Ad) Folder. Videos from this folder will be taken
as Ads and options like Show Logos During Ads etc will be applied to
these videos during channel run time.
Ad Path:
Filler Path is a path of special filler videos that play automatically in the
gap between Play At Fixed Time Movie and the earlier finished movie.
You must have the path if you have selected any movie for Fixed
PlayTime. Playing a movie at a fixed time is covered later in this
manual.
Default Filler Path:
No Scroll Folders:
You can set a folder of videos here for which you do not want to display
scroll ads. Though it is possible with movie max to hide scrolls manually
for videos, this can help when you know that whenever videos are
played form this folder, there should be no scrolls displayed. Eg : For
Tele Shopping ad videos. The advertiser will have his own line of scroll
and may not allow you to superimpose you are on his numbers. In such
a case enter such videos in this folder and whenever such videos are
played, your scroll will stop.
After entering all or any Path Names as shown above for 8 categories,
let us look at some special categories displayed in Red color.

open any category in Windows Explorer.

Note that you can Edit Folders once entered. You cannot delete any
Folders once made. This is to preserve the integrity of the data.
You can now enter more folders by just clicking the Add button and
selecting the video folder from the Hard Drive and clicking on Save
button.
Movie Max allows up to 8 Video Folders to be entered as shown above.

However if you want to add more than 8 categories, you can click on the
More Folders Button at the bottom right corner of the form. You will get
a form as shown here.

On the left side, all the videos in the folders specified in Folders option
as explained in the earlier chapter will be listed. We had specified Hindi
Movies in the earlier section. Click on the tabs and go to the ADS tab.
A form as shown will open on your monitor.
On the main menu, click on PLAY
By Programming we mean making a playlist of Movies, Ads, Songs,

Infomercials, etc. as per the time line. Let us first look at how PlayLists
can be made to be later played using Movie Max
As said earlier, Movie Max can play stored video files one after the other
as per the Playlist made by you and also from a Live source like a
camera or Satellite receiver.

Deleting from the Sequence:

You can delete any item in the sequence by clicking it in the play list
and hitting the Delete Key on the Keyboard.
Go to ADS tab and add one Full Screen Video Ad file in a similar way to
the sequence.
Thats it! You can now double click and add more entries for the rest of
the day!
Double click on another entry in the left list. After it is loaded, click on
ADD again to add the entry to the sequence. The Start Time of this
second entry will be automatically calculated by Movie Max.
Click on the ADD button and the entry will be added to your sequence
list at the bottom.
To start, double click on the movie file on the left. The file will be loaded
on the right hand corner of the screen. Play and test if you want to. Now
enter a start time for the program in the box named First Event . Note
that this timings must be in HRS HHMMSS Eg : 060000
When you Program your channel, what you do is decide when you
want which movie or Full Screen Video Ad to be played, etc. You want
to be the master controlling the content of the channel. All you have to
do is pick the videos and put them in the playlist. Movie Max will take
care of the Playtimes automatically.
Adding to Sequence:
Here all the ads in your AD directory as specified in Folders option will
be shown. At the bottom is the PROGRAM SEQUENCE

Slide the slider to the point where you want to Select From and click
Mark-In button. Slide the slider to the point where you want to Select
Movie Max also displays the Currently Playing Movie Name and the
Next Playing Movie Name in a bar at an interval set by you in Settings
Videos Show Video Info Bar option
NOTE: The Coming-Up Next List can also be displayed when you
hit the F2 key during the session manually.
All movie names that are to be displayed in Coming up List should be

colored Green as explained earlier. The video clipping the immediate
next movie will be played when the list is displayed.
You can display Full Screen Coming-Up Movies list like the satellite
channels automatically as a part of the Play Sequence with the clipping
of the next video. To add the Coming-Up Movies list to the sequence,
click on Coming Up button. Now you can either Add or Insert in your
sequence just as you add a movie or song to the playlist.

To display the video name in the Current Playing Video Bar, right click
on the Entry as done above. Select the option Show In Video Bar
option. The entry is colored Yellow and the file name is displayed on the
Channel screen for some seconds when play starts.
To just add a part of the movie file, double-click it as usual. Click the
Mark In Mark Out button below the video. A box as shown below will
be displayed.
Normally the video files that are copied from

the VCD or DVD are big files of duration like 1 Hour, etc. In such a case,
if we want to play a full screen ad say after 15 minutes, we will have to
cut the big movie file into smaller files and add them in sequence. This
is a time consuming and Hard disk space consuming process. In Movie
Max you will not have to actually cut videos. You can cut them virtually,
which saves you time and hard disk space.
Selecting a part of the movie:

Video entries can be moved UP or DOWN
within the playlist by clicking on the arrow on
the left side next to the playlist grid.
To Display the name of any movie in the Coming-Up Next List, Select
the movie file name in the Sequence by clicking it. Right Click on the
same entry. Select the option Show in Coming Up. The entry will be
colored Green and the file name (without the file extension) of this video
will be displayed in all our Full Screen Coming Up Next list.
To and click Mark-Out button. Depending on whether you want to

You can also INSERT a video by clicking on the position in the
sequence after loading and clicking on the 'Ins' button.

When you do the programming of the channel as explained above, you

may at times want to do the entries fast by selecting more than one file
in a folder and clicking a single button. Movie Max lets you do that! Just
click on Multi Files button after you select the folder that you want. It
will open a new form with entries in that particular folder as shown.
Multi Files Entry
You can hide unwanted logos from the movies for each video entry by
pulling the Red Bar on the video to cover the logos before adding to the
sequence.
Censoring Unwanted Logos Magic Bars
Movie Max lets you add the LIVE source as an entry for fixed time as
set by you. What this means is that when you do the programming for
the day, if you feel that between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. daily you want to
show a particular music channel you can do it. You have to connect the
channels receiver to the AV-IN of the capture card. Select the LIVE
button which will open the box in which you enter the duration. You can
then Add or Insert that entry just like you enter the Blank Entry as
explained above.
Adding LIVE entry
A box will be displayed that lets you enter how

long you want the blank space in hours,
minutes, and seconds. Click on the Add
button. An entry colored in red will be added
indicating a Blackout Period for the channel.
To insert blank space in your programming,

click on Blank Button
Inserting Blank Space:

This option is used to give

Special Instructions to the
software when it plays videos.
E.g. for a particular Movie, you
may not want any logos or you
want a particular sponsors logo.
For another movie you may not
want Scroll ads. To give such
instructions, click on the video
entry first and then rightclick and select Instruction button.
A box will open that will give you various options.
Playing Movies at Fixed Times and Fillers:
Right click on any video you have programmed in the playlist and you
will have an option called Instruction
Setting Instruction to videos:
Select the files on the left side by using Shift Key. Click on Select button
and they will be added to the box on the right. Once you finish selecting
all the files, click on Add or Insert button and the entries will be loaded
onto your playlist.

This is a major feature of Movie Max that lets you play your channel
EXACTLY on time as you have programmed it. Normally if we make a
playlist and start playing it, it will play one after the other disregarding
the current system time. In such a case if there is a power failure and
power comes after 30 minutes, the movie will continue from that position
but the future entry times will go haywire. To avoid this, you can click on
the yellow Align to System Time button before you start playing the
playlist. This will delete all the entries that are Past Time. E.g. if you
have programmed from 07:00:00 am to 15:00:00 pm and you start the
software at 07:15:16, clicking on Align to System Time will move the
pointer to current entry and if you click Start PlayList it will play the
exact scene which was supposed to play at 07:15:16 and continue on
time from there.
And Finally Align to System Time
You will see that the playlist will now

have this entry at 3.00 pm and before
that a Filler Entry will automatically be
inserted.

from where you want to play Fillers and
say OK.
Enter the Fixed PlayTime.
Though playing of movies at fixed time is taken care by Calendar Based

Playout Mode, even with playlist mode, you can program Movie Max to
run Movies or other videos at Fixed Time during the day. E.g. if you
want Sholay to play at 3.00 pm, you can do it. The gap between 3.00
pm in this case and the earlier movie which we assume gets over at
2.30 will be filled automatically by a Blue Entry called Filler. First enter
the Sholay file as usual into the playlist. Then right click it. You will get
the option Play At Fixed Time.

This is pretty easy setting. There are 4 columns First is the Time Line.
The second is the Movie Track. Third is the Ad Track and the Fourth
Your screen has changed and the Calendar List will be shown.
Now click on Play on the main menu.
First of all go to Settings and in the Videos Tab, select Calendar/Time

based Playout
Calendar based playout is the new feature of Movie Max Version 5.0.
With this you can set the movies, ads to play at particular time and date.
Movie will play exactly on the time. Ads will break in between movies.
Lets see how we do it.
8b. Programming the channel - CALENDARBASED

A Normal Playlist making form is

displayed. Click New button.
Double click and add video files to
the playlist like you do in PlayList
To make playlists for Ads, click on

the PlayList button on the Main
form Calendar List shown on the
earlier page.
This is a short cut to make small playlists of movies.
Select the Folder and all sub folders of movies made by you inside them
will be displayed. These subfolders will normally be your Movie Names.
Click on the Movie Name on the left box and all files in that subfolder
will be displayed in the middle box. To make the playlist of this movie,
just click the Create Playlist button.
Making playlists of videos is very simple here. Click on the Movie Wiz
button. You will get a screen like this:
Filler Track. Theres a calendar on the right to select the date of

Programming.
Programming is very simple. Just double click Lets On this screen,
double click on the relevant column at the relevant time. And select the
playlist you want.

Select as many ad slots as you want.
Thats it!
Just click on the Ad Track in the row next to the time 14:15:00 and a box
like above will pop up again. But this time it will have the Ad Playlists.
Select the Ad playlist you want and and click Load Selected
Now lets say we want one ad break at 14:15:00

PM.
You will see the movie name in the specified row

and column on the Calendar List.
Select the Movie you want and click Load

This box has playlists of movie files made by us

using the Movie Wizard Earlier.
On the left you will see the timings of slots. Each slot if os 5 minutes. Let
us set the Movie First. Double click on the Movie Track column at the
Time you want to set the movie. Eg : 14:00:00 A box like this will be
displayed.
Goto the Calendar List.
Thats it! We now have Movie Playlists and Ad playlists.
Click Ok to save the playlist.
Type in the File name. But be careful when saving. If your playlist is of
Ads, select Full Screen ads. If you made a playlist of Movies or other
normal videos, select Movies.
Based mode. Clcik the Save As button and you will be shown a box.

Sometimes you may want a same pattern of ads daily to come at the
same time. Also you may have a set pattern for filler videos, In this case
you can copy the STRUCTURE of your playlist to the next days! Just
click on the track you want to copy. Say AD TRACK, Click on COPY
TRACK button and go to the day you want to copy the structure to and
Copying Tracks:
Thats it! To program other days, just select the date from the calendar
shown on the right and start selecting the movies and ads!
You will see that the filler column will be filled by the Filler Track name.
Click OK
Select the Category of Videos that you want as Filler for that slot. Ed
Morning you may want Devotional songs etc. Also enter the number of
hours that you want this filler to be used for.
To set the Filler, just double click on the Filler Column.
The filler track is the last track column. Here you set what filler you want
in case theres no movie or ad to be played during any slot.

You will see a screen like this.
Click on the Ad Wizard button on the Calendar List.
With Ad Wizard you can do that in a jiffy!
I want to Play some full screen ads daily or on certain

days at set time without entering it and the ad must
stop after a particular date.
Wow!
click on the same TRACK TYPE and click on the Paste Track button.
The same entries will be copied!

You will see that the Slot time has

changed!
Move the ad time forward or backward

depending on the scene and click OK.
For any ad slot, you can find WHERE

the current movie is at that exact time.
Eg : to know what exactly the movie
from the Movie Track will play at
13:45:00, just got to the Calendar List
and click on the Ad slot of 13:45:00.
Then click the Fine Tune button at the
bottom.
You can avoid that in Movie Max. Because we believe that thats the
worst experience of the viewers who view you channel and expect you
to be professionals!
But will the Ad break an important Dialogue or song at 13:45:00 ?
Observe that the Calendar List will have 13:45:00 slot booked for this ad
list daily!
Also Note that we have made this Ad list to play Daily selecting the
Daily option at the top. You can also select Weekdays like Sunday,
Monday, etc. and these ads will be played only on those days!
Click on the ad slot you want to program. Eg: Here we selected the
13:45:00 slot. Once you do that, the ad video files will be enabled. Click
the ad video file and hit the Add button to include them in your list. Here
we selected Gelusil and Clinic Ad. Note that you can also set the dates
when the ad must start and end. Click one the From Date column for
the ad and select the From Date from the calendar on the left side.
Similarly do it for To Date. Click on Save.

Here the options are comparatively lesser than the Playlist tab.
Go to the Play option on the main menu and select the Live Video Tab.
Set the Video input format to PAL B which is valid for India.
Configure the card properly as per the manufacturers guidance.
To use this feature, first of all you must have a TV capture card attached
to your PC. This will be our IN Source.
With Movie Max, you can overlay your scrolls, logos, breaking news or
emergency news lines on a Live Video source. This is ideal if you want
to broadcast Live Shows.
9. Playing From Live Source

Video Format:
This is the overall Input Format for the video. Ideally set it to.
There is a important setting you have to do when using Movie Max for
Live.
A new box will open that will display all the capture cards on your PC.
Select the one that you want to use currently and the inputs available
will be shown like Composite in, S Video or RF. In case you want to give
a RF in, you can select the channel number on the right.
Go to the Go To Settings button.

This button is used to lay a LIVE box on the screen during a live event.
This is a pre designed box with Red Background and White Text. The
box can be moved using the buttons.
Live Caption:
Sometimes when we broadcast Live events, the sound suddenly goes

off or there is noise from the source. In such times, you can replace the
noise with any MP3 songs or music you have ready. Just click on the
MP3 files displayed on the Live area and play it.
Playing MP3 Audio during Live Program:
You can play any Video or Full screen ads when there is a dull moment
during a live program. Eg during cricket broadcast, you can play ads
between 2 overs. To do this, double click on the ad files on the left side

same that you specify in Ad Path option in Folders menu. You may
want to organize a special program where callers call and talk live to
your hosts and ask for videos. A person in your studio can then double
click on the video the customer wants and play it. Just like its is done on
Satellite Channels!
Playing Videos and Ads during Live Program:

Select the background image or video from the file list on the right side
and click on Set Chroma button.
Select the background color as Transparent Color.
To use chroma keying you will first have to shoot your live sequences
with a single color background screen which is colored either green or
blue (or any color which is not common with the dress or any matter of
the Host) In Movie Max you will have the following settings.
Chroma keying is an option in Movie Max that allows you to REPLACE

the ordinary background in your studio with ANY Picture or Video
background that you have. Imagine a talk show that happens in your
studio. You change the background to show as if its happening sitting
next to Taj Mahal or any known place in your locality!
What is chroma keying?
One of the best features that can be applied for Live shows is Chroma
Keying.

Note : Chroma Keying Option is shown ONLY when you start the
channel playout.
The color to be used on the background should not be the same

as anywhere on the subject. Eg if you give Blue color as back
screen color and the Host is wearing a blue tie, then when you
run Chroma, the tie will be replaced by the BMP image.
Use a very good capture card. Not the ordinary ones.
For proper chroma keying, please use a bright light on the

subject and the background.
Tips for Best Results in Chroma
You will see that the live video comes with background being replaced
by the BMP or MPG file. Change the tolerance for better results.

Video In this Section there are 4 buttons which are used to Pause/
Note : Online Changes Option is shown ONLY when you start the

You can also make changes and activate certain features by using the
Online changes tab.
You can change the playlist as you want when the broadcast is on.
However remember to Save the changed playlist.
E.g.: At 1 pm an advertiser comes to you and requests to play an ad

urgently at 1:10 pm. You can do this easily by just copying his ad to the
hard disk and inserting it into the playlist.
The best feature of Movie Max software is that you can change Movie
Playlists, Ads, Scrolls, Logos, etc. without stopping or disturbing your
On-Air channel.

Movie Information : Coming-up is used to show your viewers the

name of the current playing and next movie and its time as a small
animation on the movie.
Resume, Next, Rewind & Forward Movie as you need.

Khelo123 buttons are used to display Cricket score and SMS poll
boxes. You have to be connected to the Internet.
Remote Control This option is used when you want to control Movie
Max through the phone line from outside. Connect the Movie Max PC to
a telephone line through a modem. Then press the Connect button.
Make a call from outside to this connected number and you can see that
the telephone line connected to this PC. You can now issue various
commands to Movie Max through the telephone! See Chapter 17.
Remote Controlling Through Telephone for various commands. To
disconnect, use the Disconnect button.

A Group Builder Box is displayed
On the left side, the ad

files created by you
and present in the hard
disk will be displayed.
You can add these files
by just clicking and
adding to the group file
on the right. This group
file will be stored as
samples.sc (since we
named samples) in the
scripts folder within
software folder.
1. Select 'Make New Group' and give the

filename as 'Samples' Click 'OK'.
Click on the 'Crawlers' button on the main menu.

A dialogue box 'Open Group' appears on your
screen that lets you either make a 'New' Crawler
group or 'Open' or Delete an existing one.
Picture In Picture : You can show any Live program like cricket match
in any corner in any size when the movie is going on! To do this, you
have to first set the channel by going to Live Settings Now click on the
Start button and the channel is displayed! The size can be set using the
Positioning Option button as explained earlier.
Video Size : Compress and Display Vertical Ads:

You can manually compress the video size as set by you in settings to
display vertical ads in the background like Sport Channels. This is good
during Live or even during movies. If you want the video to be
compressed on its own after an interval the same can be specified in
Settings.
Movie Max lets you display multi-color, multi-font

crawlers with effects at the bottom of the screen
and earn money! Note that you can save the
messages in different files according to your
requirements. Let us see how we do it
12. Scrolls
Breaking News Breaking news is a box with the caption and some
text that can be displayed by you giving any latest news in your area.
Usually it can be used by news channels. To Display Breaking News on
your channel use the Start and Stop Options. To Edit the content of the
Breaking News box use the Short Cut Tool Box.
Info Lines Start Stop buttons are used to display the Information
lines from your Hard Drive (Play and Stop the message).

Warning: If the file size is big, it will occupy a lot of system

memory during a session. All the picture files must be
stored in the directory 'Images' within software directory.
The width of the picture will be as per the graphic size. SWF dimensions
can be set

to Positioning tab. You can set the Text and Graphics levels by sliding
the relevant sliders as shown above. Note that the ad must be within the
range shown (Blue line boundary)
Setting End Points: Every Scroll ad must have an End Point. To

specify and end point, click on Clear button. You will see the scroll text
below. Use the arrow marks and move it to the right. Click on the Set
button just as the scroll moves out of the screen area.

Making a BMP file with Trinity Painter is as simple as this.
To position this Text Layer on your picture below, just click on the
picture with the mouse. Save this BMP by giving a relevant name on the
Top left corner and clicking the save button!
Once you are through with this, now you select different lines to put your
matter on. Select Line 1. Type in whatever text you want in the Text
box. Change the font color, size, name etc.
If you dont want background colors but want to select an inbuilt design,
clcik on the Background Patter and select the Patters. Currently we
have given 100 pattertns. More will follow!
Select the background color gradient by selecting the two colors you
want to have as background. You can set the orientation either from
Top to Bottom or Left to Right.
Trinity Painter now lets you create simple BMP files for usage in ads
easily without having to learn PhotoShop, etc. You can also now Edit
the Saved files.
To make a BMP graphic
picture, click on the Painter
button on the Scrolls Main
Menu. The screen as shown
will be displayed: Click on the
New button. Select the
picture size on the right top
corner. You can find the
standard sizes as accepted
by this software. However,
you can change to custom
sizes
as
per
your
requirements.

1. Run on startup : Clicking this option will put you Movie Max
software in the Windows startup folder. This means Movie Max will start
automatically when you start the PC.
The First Tab is General. Here you have
Settings screen has 5 Tabs. Lets look at them one by one.
Before starting the trial session let us go to Settings. Here you can set
certain parameters to suit your requirements. Click on the Settings
button on the main menu and you will get the box as shown. Let us see
each options.

10. Audio Channel: In case you are running 2 channels from one
computer, set the Audio Output number of this software to Left and that

stored in Skins folder in C:\Max5.
6.Telephone Access Code Number: Enter a secret Number here to

access the Movie Max Menus from a Telephone Line.
5. Show Time Box: Will display a small Time and Date box at the top
corner of the screen
4. Base Drive: Select the base drive from where you software will call
data. It can either be the same machine (Default) or some other
mapped drive on the network in which case you will have to specify the
drive name Eg M (Do not enter as M:\) (Refer chapter on Networking
Movie Max)
3. Shutdown PC at: Sometimes you may want to play the last movie for
the day till say 2a.m. and then want the PC to be shut and the channel
blanked out. This can be done by entering the time here in HHMM
format. Entering 0000 will keep the PC always On.
2. Direct Start Session: Selecting this option will start the session
automatically when you start Movie Max. You will not have to click any
buttons, as the Main Menu will be bypassed. Note that you can Direct
Start to Videos or Live by selecting the option Vidoes/Live.

Breaking News messages can be displayed on the screen during your
playout sessions. The content can be edited here.
Here you will see options

11. News Based Items: All

components for running a
news channel are grouped
under News Based Items.
Click on this button and the
following screen will
appear.
12. Clone Channel: This option lets you viw a replica of the channel on
the first monitor. This is useful when you want to monitor the channel
but dont have an extra TV in your control room. Click on Clone
Channel for Monitoring and in the Online Changes click on Monitor
11. Display Out: If your PC has more than 1 TV out card and you want
to run 2 channels form the PC then you can set the Display Out to the
desired number. By default you must set it to Display Number 2
of the other software Eg Video PlayStation to Right and Movie Max on

Left or vice versa. A small button with Dots on the right lets you choose
the System Audio levels.

You can also select a
graphic to display the
weather conditions.
Up to 9 Captions can be set by assigning them to 1-9 keys on your

keyboard. During Live shows, you can use these captions to display the
NAME and DESIGNATION of the persons.
B. Breaking News and Captions:

Breaking News messages can be displayed on the screen during your
playout sessions. The content can be edited here or in the Online
Changes option during the playout.
Emergency News Lines:

You can run News Lines like Blood Wanted At Hospital or News
Messages like India Won the Match by 77 Runs, Etc. Such messages
will run at the top of the screen (can also be brought down).
B. InfoLines: MovieMax can run upto 4 Information lines anywhere on

the screen with mixed color and mixed fonts.

Note that always BMP/JPG and GIF files take a standard size as set
when creating them. However in case of SWF ads, you can set the size
without changing the quality as they are vector graphics.
You can use Trinity Logo Templates and enter the Text for Logos.
Set the location on the screen using the arrow keys at the right bottom.
Select the Logo weather SWF or BMP or JPG or GIF.
Setting channel logos is self explanatory. Just copy the logos to

C:\MAX5 folder.
Below News Based Items you will see the Set Channel Logos button.
Click it to get the below screen.

In case of Time based Logos, you can also set the Size : Height and
Width of swf logos. To set the height and width, just enter the values
that you want and click on Set
Setting SWF Size :
Select the Watermark tab to set a watermark for your channel. Here you
can set the Transparency of the logo from 1-255 levels.
You have the option of Time based logos that change after the set
interval. For this select the Time Based Logos option and set the
interval when you wan the logos to change. The Times based logos

must be stored in C:\Max5\Logos1 folder for 1 logo, LOGOS2 folder for
Logo 2 and so on.

3. Do Not Loop SWF ads: When SWF files are used in the scrolls, the
general pattern is that the SWF will play once and when the first loop is
over, the scrolling text will start. When the scrolling text starts, the SWF

also for SWF files that are directly used from the folder \Ads\.

Scala ads one important
setting is required to be done.
4. FLC Transparent color: Can be used to set the transparency of the

FLCs you have. Click on the color box to select the color.

applicable to all scroll ads.

4. Play Live at End of Playlist : this option can be used if you want to
switch to Live Playout after the last programmed video file is played. If
this option is unchecked, the software will display Banner.JPG file and
play MP3 songs when end of playlist is reached.
3. Always skip videos on delays : This is used in playlist based

playout to skip videos that have been time barred.
2. Show Picture in Picture: Click this option to show a LIVE video

screen on your playout. The live will take the same settings which you
have given in Live Settings Options.
1. Time Based Playout : This option allows you to run your channel on
Calendar Time Based basis. If you wan the Playlist based, do not click
this option.

9. Show Movie Name Continuously : This will display the movie name
on the screen continuously when the current movie is running.
8. Show Video Info Bar: Here you can set the time after which the You
are watching animation should come on the screen.
7. Counter: Counter keeps a record of the current playing position of

the movie to start it from the point of Halt in case of power failures etc.
You can reset the counter to let Movie Max start playing the movie from
the beginning or even go forward if the PC reset was because of
scratched CD file.
5. Loop Playlist : Checking this option will play the last saved playlist
again after one session of programmed sequence is over.
6. Use Chroma on Video : Check this option if you want to use Chroma
Keying on stored Videos.

Compress Every Seconds means how often you want the video to
compress. Every 10 mintes or 5 minutes etc. Set the time in seconds.
Compress For means once the video is compressed, how long you
want it to remain that way.
Background ad file, which can be a BMP or JPG or SWF of 800 x 600

pixels in size will be called from C:\Max5\Verticalads folder. You can
have more than 1 background file so that different files are displayed.
Set the Video Size on contraction by entering various parameters like

Width, Height Left and Top position.
Here you can set the Screen size for vertical ads. The video will
Contract after the interval set by you for certain seconds and display the
background Image or Flash File like in sports channels.

Note that you have to Login to Khelo123.com from here if you want to
receive the SMS poll results online.
Here you can set the Opinion Poll. Enter the question for which you
want to the Polls.

Play in first output option can be used to Test the output on the
Monitor before giving it to the line. You can use the Keyboard Shortcut
Commands explained in the next chapter to control channel in such a
case.
Clicking Stop will halt the session. Once you start the session, you can
go to the main menu by pressing Exit button.
At the bottom the scrolls are running. Breaking News box is on the left
side.
On the top you will see the logos on the left and right side. They can be
moved anywhere. You can also see the Emergency News Line and a
clock.
Click on Start Playlist and Movie Max will start playing the videos one
after the other as set by us in the sequence.
Click the Start Live to start live playout from the second output using
the settings given in Live Settings of the Live Tab.
Click on the Play button on the main menu. Movie Max will come to the
play screen. At the bottom you have three buttons: Start Live, Start
Playlist and Stop.

To Control, dial the number to which the Modem is connected. After

getting connected, enter the Secret Code number as set in Settings.
Press C on the keyboard or use the Connect option of the Online

Changes and your Movie Max is ready to take commands.
The best news is that you can control the Movie Max Session through
the telephone line from your residence or anywhere! To do this first
connect the Movie Max Machine to the telephone line through a
Modem.
When the session is on in the first output, you can run some commands
through your keyboard. You have to use the keyboard for various

Similarly also map other drives on PCServer which have been shared.
Name them P: Q: R: etc.
Here you have to give a drive name to this folder. Give the name as M:
Once you find its C Drive, right click on it and click on Map Drive
Search the PCServer through Network Neighborhood of Windows98 or

XP.
Go to the PCPlayer machine.
PCServer Computer will run Demo version of Movie Max. This

computer will also be loaded with Movies, Fillers, Songs, ads etc. Share
all the folders of this computer. Share C drive D Drive etc. Note that this
PC will have C:\Max5 folder because we have installed demo Movie
Max. Run Movie Max and go to Folders. Select Video categories from
its D, E drives just as you normally do. But remember what path you
give and the sequence too. Eg : if you give Video category name as
Hindi Movies and select D:\hindi as its path then you must remember
this.
Let us call the second Computer as PCServer
This will have Movie Max software WITH LOCK
Let us call the first computer as PCPlayer
You should have 2 PCs connected through CAT 5 LAN Cable. Load
Movie Max on both of them.
Trinity Movie Max supports updating of Playlist or ads from any

computer connected to the Movie Max PC through LAN network. The
system works as follows:

Note that you will have to keep saving the Play List that you update from
the remote PC (PC Server)
Once you select all the categories, restart the software. Program some
time from the PCPlayer side only and see it run normally. Then go to the
server side. Start Movie Max go to Videos and make changes as
required. You can also change Scroll ads etc.
Go to Folders and give the Folder names in the same sequence as

you gave in the PCServer machine above. Select paths from the
Mapped drives like P:\ Q:\ R:\ . E.g. if you took D:\Hindi path for the first
category in PCServer, since D: becomes P Drive here, select P:\hindi
on the PCPlayer machine.
Go to Settings. Enter M in Base/Network Drive Option.
Start Movie Max - PCPlayer
After you do it, PCPlayer machine will have new M, P,Q,R etc drives
apart from the normal C, D,E drive.

So all the best! You are in control now!
3. Movie Max is designed keeping in mind 800x600 AGP card, which is

known to run videos non-stop for days without any problems. If you are
planning to use any other high cost, high-end card, CHECK IF ITS TV
OUT AT 800X600 RESOLUTION IS FULL SCREEN.
2. Have Two Extra Hard Disks. These extra disks can be detached and
given for filling with movies, etc. You can get hold of people with
computers whose only job would be to copy movies onto the hard disks
Once the movies are copied, mount the disk on your system and create
the sequence. Remove the disk that is running and give it for filling. That
way you can fill programs in Hard Disks in turns without having to tell
your staff to do overtime.
1.Note that 400 GB Hard disk stores about 100 DVD Movies in Mpeg-2
format. Thats 20 days of programming at 15 movies day. But you can
play a lot of video songs as fillers and they have to be stored only once
but can be played many times over during the 20 days.
