Teacher hands Ss a worksheet with numbers. They

animal so rather than just holding up each picture you

can play "Flashcard Reveal": take the first flashcard
and place it behind the pack of the other cards, so it is
hidden from view. Slowly push the flashcard up so that
the picture is revealed, bit by bit, to the class.
Encourage everyone to shout out what they think it is
until someone gets the right answer. It is ok if students
shout out the word in their language if they don't know
it but make sure you teach the English word. Chorus
each word three times and stick onto the board.

Hand Ss the worksheet. Have them look carefully at

the picture. Then, point to the small picture of the
striped cat at the bottom of the page and ask, "How
many striped cats can you find?" Point to the small
picture of the striped cat at the bottom of the page.
Have Ss write the number on the write-on line
provided. Repeat for the other animals.
Homefun: Complete the previous worksheet if there wasnt
enough time in class.

T uses the flash cards from the previous day and review
pets. Then, T gives Ss the worksheet (super pets word
search) and allow some time to find the 10 animals. T
awards the first 3 students.

Class Steps:
-

Review numbers. Play the song Count to ten from

the previous lesson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?
v=ONZEOQ_x6yY
To review pets. Group Ss in 2 big groups A B and ask
them to line up in front of the board, give them a
flyswatter and say the name of an animal. The first Ss
to swat the animal teacher calls gets a point. Follow
the same step for the next 2 students and so on.
If you have any photos of your pets (even from years
ago) it would be fun to bring them to class show the
photos to the class and as you do use the structure "I
have" to say what pets you have (e.g. "I have a pet
dog"). If not, no problem, well just use a flashcard
instead.
Write the question on the board: Do you have a?
and write the answers: Yes, I do. And No, I dont.
Model the activity with one student. Give the student a
card of a dog and ask him/her: Do you have dog?
Encourage the student to answer Yes, I do. Then the
student asks the teacher the same question to
discover what pet the teacher has. The teacher

answers. Follow the same procedure with another

student. Then, invite other 2 students, give them cards
and ask them to guess what animal they have using
the correct structures. Monitor students during the
activity.

the answers. Monitor the class and then call some

Give one student a flashcard and ask the class: Class,

Does she/he have a dog? Ss: Yes, she/he does. Or
No, he/she doesnt. Repeat the same pattern with 2
or 3 more students.

Hand the next worksheet: We love pets and explain

students need to look at the pictures, listen to the
questions (teacher reads the questions) and they need
to write: Yes, she does. No, she doesnt. Yes, he
does. No, he doesnt. Yes, they do. No, they
dont. Yes, I do. No I dont.
