in Assam and urged the people toroot out thecorrupt Congress government from the
stateand rebuild a developed andstrongerAssam undertherulingofBharatiyaJanata
Party.

Shri Shah said, the country was ruled by the Congress partynearly for55yearsand
they ruled Assam even longer, there is Congress' Tarun Gogoi governmentin Assam
since 15 years, but Assam is still far behind in growth. He said, then why Assam is
losing ground in development despite giving the Prime Minister for 10 consecutive
years.He said,
thestatewhich wasfourthamongthemostdevelopedstatesatthe
time of Independence is today the fourth from the bottom
. He said,
Congress is
solelyresponsibleforthedecadencyofthestate.

Shri Shah said that the BJPruled states have moved rapidly on the path of
development in these 15 years, we have establishedanewstandard ofdevelopment
by delivery it to every poor and every villages. He said,
BJP and development is
synonymous to each other

. He said, wherever people gave the mandate for a BJP government in
the country, we came in powerin those states again andagain becausewe believein

'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas'. He said, BJPruling states are writing a new script of
developmenteverydaywhilethereisanabsolutelydifferentscenarioinAssam.Hesaid
that over 1 crore people inAssamarestillforced toliveunderpoverty line, morethan
42% of the population is not receiving clean drinking water, even electricity has not
been reached out to more than 36% homes, motherhood mortality rate and atrocities
againstwomen isgrowing, conditions ofpeopleworkingin tea gardens inthestateare
pitiable but the corrupt Congress government in Assam have noissue withit. He said

governments should work for the welfare of the people, not for themselves but

Taking a dig at Congress, BJP President said that despite ruling the country for 55
years, the Congress government could not secure its borders. He said, Assam is
plaguedbytheproblemofillegalinfiltrationsfromBangladesh.Hesaid,theBangladeshi
infiltrators snatch awayemployment from Assam's youth.Assuringthe people, hesaid,
if a BJPled NDA government is formed in the state with the blessing of the
peopleofAssam,thenBangladeshiinfiltrationwillbestopped100%inthestate.

Shri Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country. He said,
even the
opposition cannot accuse the NDA government in a single corruption case. He
said, the
Modi government has answered with a corruptionfreegovernment and
is committed forthedevelopment.Hesaid,the
Modi governmentattheCentreisa
government of poor and tribals. He said that the Modi government has started
several public welfare schemes to gettheridof poverty from thecountry.He said that
the crop insuranceschemehasbeen proved to beablessingforthefarmers, theModi
government has promised to undertake expenditure of Rs one lakh per poor family's
medical treatment, set up low priced 3000 medicine pharmacies,provide freecooking
gas connection to 1.5crore poor homes,startspecial'deenadayalu' coaches reserved
for the poor in train, besides the Prime Minister Mudra Bank for employment of poor
youth. Shri Shah said that working on many projectsfor the development of Assam is
going on simultaneously. Hesaid, ascientificplanwasundertakenforcontrollingfloods
in Assam, plans are afoot for making railway lines double track, highways are being
constructed,andworkingonotherprojectsisgoingwithfasterpaceaswell.

BJP President, ShriAmitShah saidthat Assam isastate withgreatpotential,butwhat

we need is,thatAssamshouldgetagovernmentwhichisdedicatedtothedevelopment
of thestate and the governmentshouldworkwiththerightmindsetintherightdirection
andcould provide a corruptionfree governmentin thestate.He said that if it happens,
then no one can stop Assam from being most prosperous state of the country. Shri
Shah saidthat the
PrimeMinister,ShriNarendraModiwantstodomoreforAssam
butfor this, a development oriented governmentis needed inAssamwhichcan
move state faster on the path of development. He said that if the BJPled NDA
government is formed in the state under the leadership of Shri Sarbananda Sonowal,
the plans willbe executed toimprovethelivesofthehardworkingpeopleworkingintea
gardens, the state will be freed from corruption & Bangladeshi infiltrators, and Assam
will rapidly move on the path of development. Invokingthepeople, he said, "you gave
15 years to Tarun Gogoi, you gave a Prime Minister from the state for 10 years but
Assam remained where it was or went backwards when the rest of the country
progressed.
We request you to give BJPled alliance a chance, I guarantee you
that we will make Assam the best state of the country.
