The following rules and regulations applies to all
laboratory computers on campus (including Library). Laboratory computers may only be used by current Swinburne students and staff. Swinburne identity card must be presented upon request by ITS or Security personnel.

Swinburne computing facilities may only be used for
the legitimate educational, research and administrative purposes of Swinburne. All other use is forbidden. Students must also abide by the computer laboratory rules shown on computer screens and those posted in the computer laboratory. Students must abide by license requirements of any software or resources they use on the computers. Unless otherwise permitted by the Copyright Act, unauthorized copying or public performance of works or audiovisual material is prohibited. The v2016

University does not authorize students to make
copies or deal with copyright material without permission of the copyright owner. Damaging equipment, altering software settings or installing software on the computers is forbidden. No offensive pictures and videos. No games. No unlicensed or illicit software. All personal data must be saved on a portable handy drive or on your Home drive. Do not save personal data on the computer hard drive.

Do not leave your belongings in the computer
laboratories. Unattended belongings will be removed. The University is not responsible for any loss of data or personal belongings regardless of the cause. No eating or drinking (all food and drink to be kept in bag). No moving or unplugging of any equipment in the computer laboratories. No socializing or group discussion not directly related to computer laboratory work.

Students are reminded that once they have
completed their work in the computer laboratory, they should clean up their area and log off the computer.
Video surveillance (CCTV) operates in all open access
computer laboratories. Anyone found in breach of these rules will be removed from the computer laboratory and will face disciplinary action.

A disciplinary action will be taken for any acts of
vandalism and/or theft. WARNING: It is a criminal offence to: Obtain access to data without authority. Damage, delete, alter or insert data without authority.
