China Price Indices

In May 2016, the:
consumer price index (CPI) decreased by 0.5% from April 2016 but rose 2.0% from May 2015
industrial producer prices (PPI) rose 0.5% from April 2015, but down 2.8% from May 2015
In May CPI decreased by 0.5% MoM, mainly due to lower prices of fresh vegetables.
In May Industrial Producer Prices fell by 2.8% YoY, mainly due to lower prices of: Extraction of
Petroleum and Natural Gas (-21.5%), Processing of Petroleum, Coking, Processing of Nucleus Fuel (15.6%), Mining and Washing of Coal (-10.2%), Manufacture and Processing of Non-Ferrous Metals (7.7%), and Manufacture of Chemical Raw Material and Chemical Products (-5.4%), with a total
impact of -1.7% year on year, accounting for about 60% of the decline.
The following table contains the spliced series (base 2015) with data based on the composition of the
index for 2010, along with a projection for the rest of 2016 and the trend for 2017.
