COURSE CONTENTS:
This is a 4-unit course and you will be provided with a book entitled College Physics
by Giambattista, Richardson and Richardson. The Chapter 2 - Chapter 8 of the books
will be used for this course.
Chapter 2 - Force
Chapter 3 - Accelerations and Newtons Second Law of Motion
Chapter 4 - Motion with constant Acceleration
Chapter 5 - Circular Motion
Chapter 6 - Conservation of Energy
Chapter 7 - Linear Momentum
Chapter 8 - Torque and Angular Momentum
Students are also advised to look up the Schaums Series Book entitled College
Physics (see reference books section for details). for more fully worked examples
and problems.

Assignment 1:

Chapter 2-4
Dateline for assignment 1 submission is 20 January 2016.

Assignment 2:

Chapter 5-8
Dateline for assignment 2 submission is 15 April 2016.

These assignments must be sent directly to the course manager.


Continuous assessment
One continuous assessment will be conducted during the Intensive Course. The part
covered by this continuous assessment is the whole of Module 1.
INTENSIVE COURSE
The date for the intensive course is available in the Academic Calendar provided.
The face-to-face tutorials will be conducted during the intensive course.
CONTRIBUTION OF COURSE WORKS AND FINAL EXAMINATION
The duration of the final examination for this course is 3 hours.
The examination is based on all the chapters covered.
