Classroom Arrangement
The arrangement of the classroom shall be dependent on the activity set for
the day. There shall be no fixed classroom arrangement; however, the classroom
should be spacious enough for any activity. Child safety will always be considered.
Also, instruction will not be limited inside the classroom but at times will be
extended outdoors when necessary and applicable. In other words, the learning
environment will be pupil-centered and extensive to provide an opportunity for new
discoveries. For example, an activity for Science specifically about ecosystems may
be done outside for children to have a firsthand experience of real-life ecosystems
and not just mere illustrations or drawings. Learning through this exposure will be
more authentic and meaningful for them.
The classroom will be more of a classhome also where pupils needs will be
addressed for them to be more embracing of the classroom environment. It is also
one way of teaching children how keep their home orderly and safe as they will be
given tasks also of keeping the room in order which they can also apply to their
respective homes.
Misbehavior Interventions
Any form of misbehavior will not be tolerated but rather will be corrected
immediately. Discipline may come in different acceptable forms and will be agreed
upon by the responsible people including the teacher and parents. When unsettled
at that level, the concern may then be brought up to the school principals office.
Misbehaving pupils may be counseled, or may be asked to perform small
community work relative to the offense made like picking up trash in the school
premises for littering.
Classroom Safety
The childrens safety will be primary and foremost to be considered in setting
up a classroom. The classroom should be safe to use and not in a condemned status
as certified by the municipal and division engineers. It must also pass the clearance
from the Bureau of Fire Protection.
Secondary to that, the classroom will be set in a way that allows free
movement and easy evacuation in preparation for disasters. Fire exits will be
identified, labeled and made known to pupils. In addition to that, participation in
quarterly drills is a must for pupils and teachers alike.
Children will not be allowed to bring sharp and pointed objects and tools like
knives. In cases where there is a need for such in an activity like cooking, the utensil
shall be deposited to the teacher as classroom entrance and shall only be given to
the children during their need of it. Maximum supervision will also be observed by
the teacher.
Any object which may cause harm to the pupils will be confiscated and
reported to the parents.
Pupil Celebration
Appreciation is very essential for children and adults alike. Any commendable
performance of the pupil should be recognized right away whether verbally in the
form of announcement, in written form like certificates and the like.
In my class, paper stars will be given to pupils who give exemplary
performance and participation in the class activities. These stars will be traded with
gifts like school supplies at the end of every grading period. Likewise, children who
have never incurred an absence for the grading will be given the same stars. This is
one way of encouraging maximum participation.
During the reading of honors, pupils with outstanding performance and
participation will be recognized.
