The Undergraduate Biology Office does clearances for Biology major and minor requirements. Students should obtain clearance for the
major/minor prior to the "add" deadline of their last semester. Questions about University or Arts & Sciences requirements (i.e., DECs, Skills
etc.) should be directed to the Academic and Pre-Professional Advising Center, E-2360 Melville Library (http://www.stonybrook.edu/aadvising/).

CREDITS
Completion of the Minor requires at least TWENTY (20) CREDITS in biology courses designed for the biology major (see above,
SECT. A & B). The courses must be completed with a grade of C or higher. A grade of satisfactory (i.e., S) in readings and research
courses applies to the quality requirements within the following credit limitations. Up to TWO credits of biology independent research
(BIO 484, 486, 487, 489) and ONE credit of tutorial readings (BIO 444, 446, 447, 449) may be applied towards the minor.
All credits for the Minor, except those in Section A, must be in BIO major courses at Stony Brook. The list of substitute electives for
the major does not apply to the minor. Introductory biology taken at other colleges only apply to the minor if approved by the biology
transfer evaluator.
