M.Tech PROJECT
Machine Tool Error Estimation Using DenavitHartenberg Algorithm
Date: June 2015 - June 2016

Organization: Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology

Software: MATLAB, Renishaw Simulator
Device: Renishaw QC20-W Telescopic Double Ball bar systems (DBB)
Role: Study the Denavit-Hartenberg theory and implement on 5-axis machine to estimate errors
Synopsis: The concept of Denavit-Hartenberg Algorithm and Homogeneous Transformation Matrices
are used to build up a machine tool error model. A method using a Double Ball Bar is proposed to
estimate rotary axes errors, which are caused by imperfections during assembly of machine
components. This enables a reduction in the number of setups and time, thus enhancing measuring
efficiency.
The main contribution of the project is the development of the fast and simple estimation
of errors of the rotary axes. The models developed in MATLAB software for easy and fast calculations.
The results show the effectiveness and improved efficiency of the developed methods. It can be
considered for practical use in assembling processes, maintenance and regular checking of 5-axis
machine tools.

B.E. PROJECT
Design and Fabrication of Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP)
Date: June 2012 - June 2013

Organization: Manoharbhai Patel Institute of Engineering and Technology

Software: AutoCAD
Role: To design the various parts of ESP
Synopsis: Design and Fabricate a prototype of an Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) by using vibrating
plates which reduces the pollution by collecting the dust particles on the surface of the plates.
Studied the Corona effect which is used in the design of ESP. Design of Hopper, Induced Draft Fan,
Forced Draft Fan, Rapping Bar and assembling is done.
The main contribution of the project is the physical modification of the Electrostatic
precipitator with high efficiency to reduce pollution, hence help to the Industrial sector and
environment.
