Technology drives the world and my passion towards technology that could be a game changer

drives me. This very passion, in the formative years, has driven me to science workshops that
were hosted at my place of study, as a student visitor and later on as a participant. The trigger
point to take my passion to next level was when I stood one among the top ten students in the
National Science Olympiads when I was in Grade 9. This ranking validated my passion towards
technology. Resultantly, I chose Maths, Physics and Chemistry as my core subjects at +2 level
which stood as a solid foundation for opting Mechanical Engineering course at Sharda
University. I majored in Mechanical engineering from this University. In this ever changing
world I aim to be a part of the technology that makes a difference. To make my dream come
true, I majored in Mechanical Engineering from Sharda University. My keen interest in
Mechanical Engineering has driven me to take up research oriented graduate studies at
____________________________. I aspire to learn the practical aspects of Mechanical
Engineering such as design, thermal sciences, and manufacturing technology in my graduate
study which really spurs me to be a game changer. so that I can build my career in the industry
and work as a key player in a challenging and a creative environment.
An avid student in my junior high school days, I actively participated in science workshops and
national level science Olympiads.During my 9th grade I stood 8th in my city in the National
Science Olympiad. This appreciation deepened my inclination towards science and technology.
This thirst for knowledge led me to choose Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as my majors at
10 + 2 level. After this point of time I had to make an important decision for my career to decide
where I would like to see myself a decade down the line.Then I realized my interest in
mechanical engineering where everything is dealt with mechanisms, reasoning skills which has
made me to choose mechanical engineering as my career path in engineering .
Deciding to path my career as a mechanical engineer has been one of the wisest decisions I could
ever take and the experience so far has been enriching and fulfilling. During my under
graduation, we had various subjects like Mechanics of Materials, Finite Element Analysis,
Machine Drawing and Thermal Engineering which helped me bolster my fundamentals. During
this learning term, I was introduced to the concept of looking at mechanical components from an
engineering point of view.
I was then offered an internship at the Defence Research and Development Organisation
(DRDO). This gave me a platform it was an opportunity to work in the workshops where the
defence systems are being developed for the countrys military. I had the opportunity to rub
shoulders with some of the best mechanical engineers in the industry and that interaction and
network greatly benefitted me by enhancing my understanding of applications of Mechanical
Engineering concepts in real world scenarios. I understood a parlance that if teaching profession
creates all other professions, then Mechanical engineering is the engineering which creates all
other engineering streams.The experience at DRDO was very unique as it underlined the
importance of being effective and emphasized the importance of Mechanical Engineering in realworld scenarios.

Attending various mechanical workshops held in our college during Technical Festivals has
helped me in expansive understanding of the practical aspects of Mechanical Engineering.
In the final year of my graduate course, I did a project, with a team of four members, on
Speedbumps: Generating Electricity Using Speed-Breakers. The main aim of the project was
to design a speed-breaker which uses the weight/kinetic energy of the vehicles passing over them
to generate electricity, which could be used on highways directly without the need for any
external sources of power
I was also involved in blood donation camps and cancer awareness runs organized by the
university.

is recognized as one of the best Mechanical Engineering departments in the country and
possesses an outstanding faculty, extensive research program and provides ample
interdisciplinary research opportunities to lay down a strong foundation necessary for a
successful researcher. The research carried out in NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR AVIATION
RESEARCH LAB is of great interest to me. Research interests of this group mainly lie in the
Advancements in Ballistics, Crash Dynamics etc which align well with my research interests and
experiences. I am confident that pursuing research studies with this group will help in providing
me a strong basis for basic and advanced research in the development of advanced space systems
for space exploration and analysis. I am also deeply inspired by the work being done by Mr.
James E. Steck in the field of Intelligent Control.
My intention to study in USA stems from my desire to experience education in a different part of
the world in an apt ambience. I strongly believe that USA is a technology leader in many areas
and hence would be an exceptional place to study Engineering. Being a prospective student for
new challenging/game changing ideas, I believe that an opportunity for higher education in
U.S.A. would be a unique fortuity to test and prove my ability and also to enrich and broaden my
transition to a new setting.Your university with its unique graduate program in Mechanical
Engineering and with its commitment to foster intellectual excellence is remarkable and
attractive to embark upon an academic career. Given a chance I'm confident of accomplishing
my educational goals at your university and Im sure I'm well suited to the University's
requirements with the right goals and attitude towards academic excellence.I am looking forward
