SYNOPSIS

Project title: Employee Monitoring System


INTRODUCTION:
Objective:
The Employee Monitoring Systems objective is to provide a system which manages the
employee details, the Payroll activity done in a company depending upon the employees attendance
and its calculation which is very huge. The system is developed to make user friendly environment for
the employee who are not able to work at their home or anywhere else and the manger is able to keep
a eye on them. The users will consume less amount of time through computerised system rather than
working manually. The system will take care of all the payroll activities like managing each
employees attendance, the number of leaves taken by that particular employee and calculation in a
very quick manner and it avoids
Data storing is easier. Paper work will be reduced and the company staffs spend more time on
monitoring the progress. The system is user friendly and easy to use. All the important datas will be
stored in the database and it avoids any miscalculation.

Scope:
This project is helpful in maintaining the employees record, calculating the salary for each
employee and it also focuses on each employees attendance and the no. of leaves taken per
month/year. There is also a possibility of checking salary report at any time so that it doesnt lead to
any miscalculation. This project enable communication between the employee and manger. The
manager is able to remotely control the system of the employees , he check that a employee is doing
at current time and he can remotely shut off the system of employee.

PROJECT CATEGORY: Stand Alone Application


It can be used over network as well enabling user to work from home.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Employee Monitoring System is based on maintaining each employee records and keep track
on his daily work.. The first activity is based on saving the employees details where each employee
will be given a unique Employee ID. Now based upon first activity the administrartor is able to keep
track on each employees work.
Admin has the authority to add employee details. And he also has the right to edit or delete
employee information to/from the list. Admin provides a unique username and password for each
employee through which he can login all the informations are being saved in the database.

Operation Occurring In The System:

According To The Admin(Manager): He can add new Employee.


He can view that a employee is doing during this time of duty.
He can communicate with employee, he can view who is online at a particular time.
He can remotely access the system of the employee.
He can decide whether to check the employee salary should be increased or not by
viewing the his/her performance.

According the User(Employee): User can login from remote location by using his/her id in the system.
He can work from his environment as the manager can view his activates from system .

Modules:
Account Configuration:
Employee: When a new employee joins the company, his record is saved in
the data.
Registration: As soon as the employee joins the company, the admin provides
unique username and password to him.
Display: A user can view information regarding employees working in that
company, to be submitted to the admin .
Logout: This module allows the user to Logout the application. Further
operations cannot be performed after user exits.

EXISTING SYSTEM:The current System of Employee Monitioring System is the basic system in which manger
can only observe the screen of the employee bt he could not do any thing to instruct hiim to
do anythnig and manager was not able to access the system of the particular employee. This
software was basically developed for observing the work and activites without letting the
emolpyee that he is being observed. Manager is not able accesss the file and documents
which user are accessing. Email monitoring is a basic requirement which was not possible in
this current system .
MODIFICATION IN CURRENT SYSTEM :Advancement in the field of the montiring has lead to the development of new features of this
system and following are some of the few changes which are made in the system:

An employee screen can be zoomed to an actual size.

The name of the connected user is displayed.

Record employee screens to MPG4 files.

Show your desktop to employees or show employee desktop to other employees.

Power on/off, restart, hibernate, suspend employee PCs.

Log off desktop users.

Lock workstation.

Email Monitoring.

Real- Time Monitoring.

Hard Disk: 20 GB hard disk or above

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

Language: Java language


Database: Microsoft SQL server 2008
An Platform : A Java based platform

CONCLUSION:
Employee Monitoring System software developed for a company has been designed to
achieve maximum efficiency and reduce the time taken to handle the Payroll activity. It is designed to
replace an existing manual record system thereby reducing time taken for calculations and for storing
data. The system uses Vb.Net as front end and Microsoft SQL as a backend for the database.
The system is strong enough to withstand regressive daily operations under conditions where
the database is maintained and cleared over a certain time of span. The implementation of the system
in the organization will considerably reduce data entry, time and also provide readily calculated
reports.
