Todd Spencer Georgia Tech Offense Part 1

Georgia Tech Offensive Line


- 3’ Splits across the line C – G – T
- Big splits mean the triple read will be moved wider (longer read for QB)
o Triple read #1 4i out
o Midline read #1 2i Out
- OL ear hole is on the back hip / belt of the center
1. Charge Distance – Surge - Run off the ball and create new LOS
2. Scoop is 45 degree angle (Back off helps scoop / cut back)
3. Pulling is down hill on traps (counter option)
Stances
- Narrow Base, Feet under arm pits
- Toes to inset
- Heels Out
- Hand in front of eyes, tripod fingers
- 1 ½ “ of air under step foot
- 1” of air under drive foot, (mental weight should be on drive foot)
- 60% of weight on hand
- Wrinkle forehead – see the bottom of the LB’s #’s
- Flat back, butt up
- Center = 4 Point Stance, Ball extended
- Load foot (step)
- Roll over the drive knee (hips under you)
- 2nd step in the ground before the down hand
- Drive Nose (screws) threw the thorax
- Hands to the breast plate (short ribs)
- Accelerate feet (hips up)
OL Drills
- Duck Walk (lower body balance
- Knees inside ankles
- Elbows tight
Get off the ball
- See Stances
QB/Center Exchange 5 min daily = some days on the sled
- Drive non step knee down through the ball
- Snap and step
- Nose 2nd step through the ball
Loaded Explosion (from 2 point stance)
- No Step
- Deliver Blow
- Drive Hands
- Wipe Gum of nose
- In Chutes
- Defender holds hand bag
Soft Ball Drill (Veer Release)
- Dip Rip, pick up ball
- In and Up
Cut LB / Scoop
- Foot opposite LB up to cut
- Fire out of chute
- Cut red Ball
- 45 degree Cut ball
2 on 1
- Fire out of chute vs. 2 defenders (shoulder to shoulder) with bags
- Drive Knees

Midline
- BS Halfback block 1st LB Mike out
- QB replace read
- Pair the midline with bubble (puts OSLB in bind)
- Cut ups

Trap Option Series
- best ran to smallest shade or 2i
- 5 tech squeeze
- QB fake FB opposite, baby mesh (QB/FB)
- Want LB’s and Safeties running sideways
- Defense illusion of option one way, attack opposite
- BS Guard pull & log
- Twirl, 3 step Motion Fake (LB & $) Hard Steps!
- FB fill for 2 technique out
- Pulling Guard = Log / Kick DE
o Log 6” above outside knee, look up, step on toes before you throw
o Inside hand throw outside knee, rip to the sky
- Reasons to Run
o Squeezing DE
o Flow of LB’s
- You must rep it to be good @ it
- QB – Drop, Gather, turn
- OL – Cut splits to 2’ on toss and CTR option
- Vs. 4i
o PST give 4i call, base down
o Pulling Guard will wrap for PSLB
- Pulling Gaur, if DE goes inside wrap for opposite colored jersey inside

VS a 4i Georgia Tech Will


- ISV – Tackle Base and Read DE
- PSHB Straight up field for LB

Georgia Tech Kadence = Read, Set, Hike


Pitch Relationship – 1 yard deep (behind) and 5 away (apart)
