WHEN WORDS ARE NOT ENOUGH TO THANK

PASSION, INTEGRITY & APNAPAN

Dear All,
We are dedicating this issue to one of the great community leaders of the humankind Sattar Edhi who
has devoted all his life to serve humanity. He has founded the largest network of emergency medical
assistance service with over 1800 ambulances, 28 rescue boats and two airplanes. There would be
hardly anyone in the city of Karachi who has not benefitted from his services at some stage and all of
these services are run through public donations without any funding from state.
At this moment he is critically sick and as the last ten nights of Ramadan starts please do not forget to
include him in your prayers.

EID IS AROUND THE CORNER

Next week we will be celebrating Eid. We will be arranging a dinner on 7th July at Platinum
Function Centre. Invitations have now been all sent and we are just waiting for confirmation of
guests. If you have not responded as yet, please do it by Friday 1st July. It is a pleasure to
announce that Dr. Anis Ahmed, the Vice Chancellor of Riphah University, Pakistan will be our
special guest this year and we look forward to welcome him.

PASSPORT ONLINE
Finally the government of Pakistan has provided online facility for passport which has come as a
pleasant surprise to overseas Pakistanis following the NICOP online services.

ATTACKS ON MOSQUES: ONCE AGAIN

Last evening the Thornlie mosque was vandalised. The people praying in the masjid heard a loud
BANG and proceeded to run outside where they witnessed vandalism on the outside of the
Mosque with derogatory remarks and a 4wd on fire.
Earlier in the week there are reports of another incident that happened at Southern River mosque
on weekend where hate remarks and pig's head was left on mosque drive way. WE are living in
difficult times which is very obvious form the criticism received by the Hon. Prime Minister on
arranging Iftar dinner. It may be just a blessing that these journalists and media personalities do
not know that Iftar is a regular annual event at WA Parliament. However this does places our
parliamentarians in difficult position as to if they should openly support Muslim communities. The
current labor candidate Ann Ally is one example where she has been criticized wrongly for
suggesting strategies for marginalised youth.

SLEEPING BAGS DISTRIBUTED

As you read this newsletter, the sleeping bags donated by the
members have been donated to our fellow Australians in
need.
Just to let you all know that Fitra this year is 12$ as per
mosques in Sydney or 2.25 kg per person of food such as
wheat, flour, rice and dates.
