Bamba is looking for a self-motivated, highly ambitious and well-networked individual to join the core
leadership team of Bamba in a Business Development Role for the Development Aid Sector. This
position allows for tremendous growth and achievements as Bamba grows their business in Africa
and then embarks on a journey to expand into the rest of the emerging markets in the next 12-24
months.

This role includes an equity component to compensate for a below market value salary for the next
12-18 months until companys Series A fundraise is complete. At that point, the salary will be
brought up to market standard. Bamba just completed fundraising its initial seed round of
approximately $1MM.

The Role Sales & Business Development Manager

The Business Development Managers role will be to improve the companys market position and
achieve financial growth by generating new business while managing existing business relationships
with the Development Aid Sector.

4. Ability to lead/write grant and funding proposals
5. Based in the Washington DC area

General Job Description

The primary role of the Business Development Manager will be to prospect for new clients by
networking & generating interest/closures of the prospective clients.

They must develop a rapport with new clients, and set targets for sales and provide support that will
continually improve the relationship.

The individual will have full access to Bambas demo environment with the ability to provide ondemand demonstrations. The ability to interface well with all other roles/employees within the
organization is imperative to the success and future growth of Bamba.

Strategic planning is a key part of this job description, since it is the business managers responsibility
to develop the pipeline of new business coming in to the company. This requires a thorough
knowledge of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide, and of the companys
competitors.


New Business Development Responsibilities

1. Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
2. Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging you network.
3. Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the clients organization.
4. Research and build relationships with new clients.
5. Set up meetings between client decision makers and companys practice leaders/Principals.
6. Plan approaches and pitches. * Work with team to develop proposals that speak to the
clients needs, concerns, and objectives.
7. Client Retention
8. Upsell to existing clients

Education & Experience

Masters degree
3-5 years of Sales and Business Development experience
Prefer previous experience working in a startup environment
