The basement structure shall be tanked with a waterproof membrane.

It shall be provided to the

underside/external face of all foundations, basement slab, tank, lift pits, ground beams, if any.
The membrane shall be recognized approved product e.g. SikaPlan WP1100 in conjunction with its
various supporting products such as water-stops, protection sheets, termination strips, water-bars and the
like. The Contractor shall engage a specialist sub-contractor who is waterproof-certified (e.g. Sika) to
design, detail and install the membrane and its ancillary details in accordance with their requirements.
The Specialist Sub-Contractor shall produce project-specific shop drawings and submit these to the
Owner's Representative for review at least 3 weeks prior to commencement of installation.
At construction joints in the basement and retaining wall structural elements, the Contractor shall provide
and install, as a minimum, water-bar/water stop and a hydrophilic strip
Refer to Architectural specification for details of linings and waterproof membranes to liquid storage
tanks, exposed ground floor slab and all waterproofing system specifications and details to the building
superstructure and facade.
