After I graduate from

University with a
Bachelor Degree in
Accounting, I would
apply in various
accounting firms .
Currently my dream
list are Deloitte, Ernst
and Young and KPMG.
Applying through coldcanvassing might work
in small firms however
I would like to visit
their websites to
apply, or seek.com or
linkedin.com to
promote myself.

The next step I would

do after I graduate
form University is to
apply for this job by
looking at seek.com or
linkedin.com which will
help me get linked
with different people
and itll be a lot easier
for me to find job as
wider networks is also
a way to get a job.
Other alternative ways
are finding internships
and get training.

The next step to get

this job after I
graduate from
University is to apply
in small hospital that
specialises in
Occupational
Therapist. Then I can
get further
internships at a
bigger hospital. I
would like to apply in
childrens hospital
because this job suit
it more.

Section 3: My Core Skills for Work

Highlight the ones you will concentrate on this year. Identify the specific aspects you want to
develop and the strategies you will use, e.g. Plan and organise organise my study time more

to due dates.

but too much playing can also be bad. I want
to learn how to divide my time well.

Work in a digital world

I would like to able to be more talkative in

classes because Im a really shy and quiet
person. To do this I will need to build more
confidence in myself or I can try to talk to
different people as this can help build my
confidence
Im a very friendly person, I think I can
connect with person very easily. Working as
a part of a team is not a big concern
however talking in front of a huge group will
be nerve-wrecking.

Im a very organised person. I dont think I

want to change any of what Ive done.
I would like to improve my decision making
skills. As a 17 year old, decision-making
should be fine however its a struggle for me
to choose between things. I would like to
learn on how to make the perfect decision.
I would like to identify and solve a problem
independently. I usually get help from
people, but I think I can do this by practicing
more.
Im capable of creating my own ideas and
innovate them. I do this by looking at the
news and life experience and learning
through past mistakes.
I believe that Im confortable working with
technology. I dont think this would be a big
problem for me.

goals?

By when?

What do I
need to do
to get
there?

What might
get in the
way?

I will achieve this goal

by the end of this
term which is in Week
10 (8 April).
Currently Im in Stage
15 in swimming
lesson. Hopefully, by
the end of this term I
can pass my test and
go to Stage 16. To do
this I will need to
practice my
swimming more
regularly and time
myself so that I can
be more fit and later
on I can pass my
swimming test. As for
my health, I will try to
eat more healthy food
and less junk food.
With relationships
with my family, I think
sparing some time for
family bonding would
be a good idea.
Im most concerned
that my studies will
get in the way of this
goal. As a Year 12
students, I will be
extremely busy with
school work and
assignments. Another
is technology such as
phones and laptops.
Sometimes, I just stay
in my room with my
phones on my hand
and I realise that this
means I spend less
time with my family. I
hope that this will not
happen this year.

BETTER MARKS

GET A NEW JOB

I will achieve this goal

by the end of this
term which is in Week
10 (8 April).
To get good results in
Year 12, I will need to
study more harder
and concentrate on
the importance of
Year 12. Im aiming to
get at the very least a
B in accounting and
to do this, I will need
as much support as I
can and keep
practicing practical
questions. For my
English, Im currently
aiming for an A and to
do so I will need to
improve on listening
and speaking. As for
maths, Im aiming at
least a B and to do
this I can ask my dad
to help me with
questions that I dont
understand.
A lot of things can get
in the way. Mostly
distractions such as
the internet, social
media, gadgets and
technologies. This
type of distractions
affect me the most, it
causes me to
procrastinate on
studies and get
carried away easily.
Another example is
housework. Growing
up in an Asian family,
I have to do a lot of
housework, which is
possible enough to
take my time for
studying.

I will achieve this goal

by the end of this
term which is in Week
10 (8 April).
My goal is to get a
new job by Week 10.
Im planning to quit
my previous job
because I think the
pay is too low. To get
a new job, I would try
applying through
cold-canvassing in
fast food stores. I
have a lot of friends
who can also be my
reference to find a
job. Once, my friend
help me to find a job
in McDonalds
because she said
they were needing
staff. I find this very
useful. Also I will
upgrade my skills to
be more competent
in the part-time job
Im aiming for.
Sometimes laziness
just come to me and
this is my biggest
concern. Teenager
these days are given
luxury by their
parents, so they dont
know how to
appreciate the value
of money. As for me, I
would use my pocket
money mainly to go
shopping because my
parents already game
me what I need such
as a house, foo and
etc.

Who can
help me to
achieve my
goal?

How will I
reward
myself
when I
reach this
goal?

I think my coach can

help me in passing
my swimming lesson
test. Im sure she can
support me and tell
me which areas I
need to improve on.
My parents can help
me as well in support
and giving advice. In
terms of eating
healthy, it is really
depending on me. So
I can help myself in
achieving this goal.

Personally, I think the

first person who will
help me to be able to
achieve this goal is
me, myself and I. I
have to be dedicated
to my studies and
make sure I achieve
this goal. Others such
as teachers, parents
and friends can also
help me to achieve
this goal. I believe
that they would also
want to see me
succeed.

When I have achieved

this goal I will reward
myself by spending
more times with
people. For example
watching movies with
my friends, going
outdoors with family
and etc.

When I have achieved

this goal I will reward
myself with things
that I like such as
watching movies,
shopping and also
buying food.

I must be selfmotivated to be able

to get a new job.
Example of people
who can help me
achieve my goal is
mainly friends.
Because most of my
friend have work
experience which
they can share to me.
They can give me
information on how to
apply for the job, how
much will I get paid
and what type of task
are done.
When I got a new job
and have enough
money, I will reward
myself buying new
shoes and new
clothes. Basically new
everything!!

GRADUATE WITH
ATAR ABOVE 80

BECOME A SWIM
TEACHER

I will fulfil this dream

by the end of this
year, which is 2016.

I will fulfil this dream

by the end of this year,
which is 2016.

I will fulfil this dream

by the end of this year,
which is 2016.

This dream is
important for me
because I think family
is my second most
important value in
my life (my first value
will always be
God/religion). I would
like to make more
family bonding
memories with my
parents and siblings
as it has been a long
time since we travel
together. I think its
important to have a
strong relationship
with your family
because theyre the
one who truly
understand you
What I need to
achieve this dream is
to be healthy so that I
can travel with fun. If
Im sick I wouldnt be
able to enjoy my
holiday. To be health, I
will make sure to
exercise regularly, eat
vitamins, eat healthy
food and avoid junk
food. Spending more
time with my family
and plan carefully
about our trip.
As Im in year 12 its
considered to be one
of the most scariest,
hardest and busiest
high school year. Im
afraid that my study
will be affected by
this trip, or vice
versa. I think the best

I cant stress enough

about this dream. I
HAVE to achieve it no
matter what. I think my
future really depends
on this and I have to
make this one chance
in a lifetime worth it.
This is very important
to me as growing up
Asian, academic
education has always
been a priority. I want
to make my parents
proud of what Im
capable of. Also with
getting the ATAR above
80, all the 3 possible
job listed can be
possible for me to do.

My dream part-time
job is to be a
swimming teacher. Im
very passionate about
swimming as its one
of my interests and
hobbies. To me being
part of a swim teacher
can help a group of
people learn more
about the safety of
water. It makes me
proud of who I am
which creates job
satisfaction for me.

I need to be really
serious about Year 12. I
cannot afford failing
anymore because this
will affect my ATAR
score. I will try to do
my best in every
subject by doing study
at home, listening and
paying attention to
what the teacher are
saying and ask
questions when I dont
understand it.

To get there, I will need

to pass a swim training
and pass my bronze
medallion. I will apply
at the austswim.com
(website) and start
training as an assistant
teacher first. Also
before hand, I want to
make sure that I
improve my swimming
by practicing regularly.

As I said previously,
the major problem is
distractions such as
technology and
gadgets.
Procrastination really is
one of my main
weaknesses. Other
things such as

Im usually undedicated. I might get

lazy and busy at
certain times. Other
problems such as
family problems might
get in the way for me
to achieve this goal.

housework, or part

the way.

I think a big influence

will be myself. This
has been my dream
since 3 years ago. I
really want this to
happen, so Ill
persuade my parents
to go on a trip and we
all can consider this
as a bit of a leavers
trip. This trip will not
go on without my
parents though, they
can also contribute to
this dream of mine.
I will reward myself
simply by going to
this trip. I will see
other cultures, learn
about them, culinary
adventure (probably
my favourite) and
also sight-seeing.

I must be selfmotivated for this to

happen. I would like to
see a change in myself,
an improvement. My
teachers can also help
me to achieve this
goal. I believe my
teacher knows my true
potential and they will
bring out my inner
potential. Hopefully by
the end of this year,
this dream will be
fulfilled.
I was thinking of
hanging out with my
friends and spend
more time with them.
Maybe watch movies,
or go out of town for
leavers celebration
trip.

Myself but I can get

more experience from
my swimming coach
and ask for her advice.
My parents will
definitely support me.
Also my friends will
motivate me for this
goal to happen.

I will save up my
money after I get the
job and spend it on
cool stationery for
University.

Section 5 : Affirmations
I believe this plan is realistic and suitable for me because:
All the words and sentences I have written is clear and valid. I believe I can do all my
goals and that they are in fact a form of a SMART goal. I have no doubt in this plan as I
think if I work really hard for it, it would pay off the hard work. I can always look back
at this Individual Pathway Plan if I want to change careers and this plan can be a really
helpful tool later in the future.

Parent suggestions and encouragement for my plan:

My parents thought that this plan is a good way to plan my future and to know more
about my inner self. After they read this, they said that they will help me achieve all
my goals and they believe that Ill be capable to do so. They allow me to do any job
they want to as long as its realistic and that its something that I actually like.

Teacher suggestions and encouragement for my plan:
