Holliday Park Parking Lot Layout Plan

Parking Lot Design & Construction - Parkland Design & Construction

Design Rights to Remenschneider Associates, Inc.

The Ruins at Holliday Park feature Indiana

limestone statues from the facade of New
York Citys first skyscraper entitled the Races
of Man. After the skyscraper was torn down
in the 1950s, the statues were moved to
Indianapolis and recreated in a Greek Ruins
featuring colonnades, a promenade and a
reflecting pool. Remenschneider Associates,
Inc. has completed a restoration design to
be constructed by the end of 2016 that will
create public parkland amongst the Ruins.
The renovated Ruins will feature a childrens
water table, enhanced promenade, native
landscapes and rain gardens, public
restrooms and a new parking lot facility.
Brad was a member of the design team
tasked with creating a new parking lot
layout that would increase the amount
of available spaces. The new parking lot
design expanded the existing layout without
disturbing any existing trees or the park
roadway system.
Brad helped put together a set of
construction documents that included a
layout and grading plan for the new parking
lot. Each wing of the new lot is fronted
by a native rain garden planting. The new
enhanced promenade divides the parking
lot and creates a connection between
neighboring Spring Mill Road and the Ruins.
Brad helped oversee a volunteer planting of
the rain gardens in the Fall of 2015 and the
parking lot was completed in the Spring of
2016.

Landscape Master Plan

This beautification project will recreate a creek bed habitat that has been devastated with Ash Tree removal and bank erosion. Brad was part of the design
team that created a landscape planting plan for Pleasant Creek which is fronted by Surina Square Park to the south and municipal offices for the City of
Greenwood to the north. The new design features a combination of high and low level native planting beds that create scenic viewsheds of the creek.
Ledgestone and river rock will be utilized to help stabilize the banks after regrading. Brad created a design set featuring a schematic master plan and
sections. He also put together a technical drawing construction set including demolition, staging and landscape plans as well as details and sections.
