GLORY BE TO JESUS CHRIST!

GLORY FOREVER!
FEAST OF THE NATIVITY OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST:
The feast of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist will be
celebrated with a Divine Liturgy at 10 AM on July 7th. Please
make an effort to be with us on this glorious feast day.
FEAST OF STS. PETER AND PAUL: The feast of STS.
PETER AND PAUL will be celebrated on Tuesday July 12th
with a Divine Liturgy at 10 AM.
APOSTLES FAST: The fasting period for the feast of Sts.
Peter and Paul began on June 27th and runs until July 12th.
Please adhere to the fasting period until we celebrate the Feast
day of Saints Peter and Paul on July 12th.
SUMMER IS IN FULL SWING: Now that the summer season
is here we have additional bills that take a toll on our finances.
Air conditioning puts a strain on our treasury. Our ability to

run in the black during this time creates a situation that makes
it very difficult to maintain financial stability. If you can find it
in your heart to help out in anyway, please see Matushka
Ludmila at the candle desk.
GENERAL CONFESSION: Please note that the service of
General Confession will be held on Sunday, July 3rd. This
service will begin at 9:30 AM.
SUMMER MONTHS: If you are away on vacation in the
summer please make an effort to attend services at a local
Orthodox Church. For a list of Orthodox Churches in the area
of your vacation please check the local directory for an
Orthodox Church near you!
CHOIR MEMBERS NEEDED: We are in need of adding
voices to our choir. It doesnt take much to walk up the stairs
to the choir loft and lend your melodic voice in response to our
beautiful services. Please take a moment and help in this
ministry of the church.
NEWSLETTER SPONSORS: We need newsletter sponsors. So
far we only had three sponsors for the last five months. All it
costs is $50.00 a month to sponsor this newsletter. Please see
Matushka Ludmila at the candle desk to reserve your month.
SPECIAL THANKS: Last month we had a major problem
with one of our air conditioners. One of the fan blowers broke!
Through the efforts of our parishioner Subdeacon Michael
Morvay it was quickly diagnosed and fixed. Michael
researched the fan blower and finally found one after an
intensive search. Within two days the fan blower was replaced
and our system was up and running. Minimal cost was $213.42

that was donated by one of our parishioners and it was fixed

without calling an HVAC mechanic. Thank You Michael for
your assistance and to our parishioner who donated the funds
to purchase the fan blower. May God Grant to you both Peace,
Good Health, and Prosperity for Many Blessed Years!
SPECIAL THANKS AND BLESSINGS: Each month we as a
Parish Family hold our monthly traditional Luncheon. This
luncheon provides an avenue for our faithful to come together
to share fellowship, laughs, and to enjoy the good food. These
luncheons cant take place without the wonderful parishioners
who make sure these luncheons go on without a hitch. No one
knows what goes on to pull off these fabulous luncheons except
those who donate their time to purchase, prepare, and clean up
and make sure the parish grounds are prepared for your
enjoyment. We also need to THANK YOU the parishioners for
attending these wonderful events. A GREAT BIG THANK
YOU to Father John, who maintains our property, Matushka
Ludmila, Matushka Donnalynn, Nadja and Fred Schmidt, Cliff
Cook, Olga Proskourina, Barbara and John Kossmann, our
baker, Monja Crandall, and Joanna Baronowsky, who offers
financial support for our dinners every month. Without these
dedicated parishioners we would be unable to provide you with
our monthly luncheons for they not only cook but help out
financially as well. May the Good Lord Grant you peace,
health, prosperity for many Blessed Years! Our next luncheon
will be held in September when Archbishop Michael makes his
annual visit during our Patronal Feast day celebration. I even
heard that we are going to have some special entertainment
planned for those days. Stay tuned for more information.

PARISH COUNCIL UPDATE: It is important to inform you

the faithful about the happenings around our church. So in
every newsletter we are going to begin a new section called
Parish Council Update. We will try to keep you informed
about all of the happenings around the parish and what is
going on behind the scenes.
Our first update this month will focus on the Very Expensive
Retaining Wall Project. Last year we sent out a campaign
letter to secure funds for the wall. Our initial cost was around
$30,000 to beautify the front of the church as well as secure the
churchs foundation. When we went for a permit with the
Township of Jackson, here is where things got out of hand with
costs. Due to the Townships requirements and us being a
public entity we are required by law to provide a secure
foundation that has increased the cost of this project. We are
now looking at a bill of over $50,000 and we have to seek
donations through another Campaign Letter. If you are able
to contribute towards this cost, please see Matushka Ludmila
at the candle desk or send in your donations through our PAY
PAL donation link on our church
website:saintmaryinjackson.org. Your help in this matter is
greatly appreciated.
PARISH GROWTH: It is apparent that our church is need of
some new membership! What can you do to help grow our
parish? Each and every day we are seeking new members to
our parish! Do you have family members who are looking for a
place to worship? Invite them to join us for worship and
experience the love, friendship, that we as a family share in our
parish community.

PARISH WEBSITE: WE are looking for someone to post our

pictures on our website. Millie has been taking some beautiful
pictures of our services but we have no one who has the time to
post them! Our website can be a valuable tool to attract new
families! Do you have the time to spend a few hours to update
our website? Please see Father John or Protodeacon John
Morvay to help us out.
PRAY FOR PARISH GROWTH!
