Course Goals

To build a solid Chemistry foundation for future science classes.


To understand the importance of Chemistry in the world.

Lab notebook (available in bookstore)
Writing utensils, calculator, and notebook for your notes.

Posted on the website and on a calendar given in class.


All assignments are due at the beginning of class.
You will be graded on a combination of completion and correctness.

Make-Up Work

You are responsible for making sure that you have completed all the
assigned work in this class. If you miss a lab, quiz or test, you must
schedule a time to make it up ASAP.

Late Policy

Late homework is not accepted, though one assignment will be


dropped per quarter. Late lab work or other assignments are charged
a 10% late fee in points per day.

Basic Rules

Be prepared to learn and to help others learn.


Be respectful to me and your classmates.
No food or drink in the room.
Follow lab safety rules unsafe lab conduct will result in a zero for the
lab and disciplinary action.
