To whom it may concern,

I am writing to highly recommend Joanna Vaughan for any open teaching position you have in
your district. Ms. Vaughan is a remarkable candidate who will make an excellent addition to your
teaching staff. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, and student-centered in her teaching.
Ms. Vaughan has worked in my classroom as a paraprofessional since the 2014 school year. She
was responsible for leading and managing a station during my guided reading, seeing four
groups of students throughout the guided reading time. These groups were differentiated based
on reading skills and often all four groups were working on different activities. Ms. Vaughan
moved between the various activities seamlessly. She demonstrated a clear understanding of
child development, how to teach reading, and how to support all levels of learners. Given her
breadth of knowledge, I often asked her to pick appropriate activities for her groups from my
resources on her own.
Ms. Vaughan also assisted in my classroom by pulling students out to work one-on-one or in
small groups on enrichment or review activities. She utilized appropriate strategies when
working with students and was respectful of all learners, regardless of academic level,
background, or special needs. She worked tirelessly to build rapport with all learners and truly
believes that everyone is capable of high levels of learning. She upheld high behavioral
expectations in all areas of the school.
Ms. Vaughan truly has a love of teaching and working with children, which is apparent everyday.
She goes above and beyond to help make school a safe, nurturing place for all students. I know
she will be a positive addition to your teaching staff.
Sincerely,
Rachel Gaard
