40.5 Dimensional Tolerances 10.51 General 10.5.1.1 The tolerances givan in this saction have bean established to produce a raconstructed tank of acceptable appearance and structural integrity and to permit proper functioning of foating roofs and seals. 10.5.1.2 Measurements to verify these tolerances shall be taken before the hydrostatic test of the reconstructed tank 40.52. Plumbness 10.5.2.1 The maximum cut-of-plumbness ofthe top ofthe shel relative tothe bottom ofthe shell shall not exceed 1/100 ofthe total tank height with a maximum of Sin, The '/10 criteria, with a maximum of Sin, shall also apply to fixed root columns. For tanks with intemal floating roofs, apply the eritria ofthis section or API 650, Section 7.6.2 and Annex H, ‘Section H.4.1.1, whichaver is more stringent. 10.82.2 The out-ot-plumbness in one shell course shell not excsed the values specified for mill tolerances in ASTM AB or ASTM A20, whichever is applicable. 105.3 Roundness Radii measured at 1 ft above the shell-to-bottom weld shall not exceed the tolerances shown in Table 10.2. Radius tolerances measured higher than one foot above the shelto-botiom weld shall not exceed three times the tolerances given in Table 10.2 Table 10.2—Radil Tolerances 4010 < 180 10.54 Peaking With a horizontal sweep board 36-in. long, peaking shall not exceed "/2 in. The sweep board shall be made to the true ‘outside radius ofthe tank, 4055 Banding With a vertical sweep board 3é-h. long, banding shall not exceed 1 in.
