proper way to construct a letter. Students will have discussed the proper
way to format a formal letter, including components such as a
salutation, a date, and a closing.
1. To begin class, the teacher will review what the students have
learned regarding the Civil Rights Movement and Martin Luther
King by asking questions such as: what were key components of
the Civil Rights Movement? What role did Martin Luther King
Jr play? What effects did he have on the people of the time that
have we discussed?
2. The teacher will then introduce the book I Have a Dream
discussing the importance of this monumental speech.
