Background
Seattle and Minneapolis currently have a wide area network connection that operates at 10
Mbps. This service is a managed service provided by the XYZ Telecommunications Company.
As a managed service, XYZ owns the Cisco 4500 routers, and is solely responsible for their
configurations. Upon request, XYZ will configure the routers with any provided routing or
access-list filtering. The Cisco 3600 router at Fort Worth is part of a managed network service
contract, and is also owned by the XYZ Telecommunications Company.
Action Plan
Two Frame Relay links will be added to the existing network infrastructure, creating a fully
meshed, fault-tolerant network. The organization will purchase 3 Cisco 1601 routers to support
the Frame Relay network. Your task is to design a network configuration that connects the
Frame Relay network to the existing corporate networks.
Solution
There's a new twist to this month's CCNA Lab Scenario.
First of all, the presented situation requires that you apply all of your CCNA knowledge in order
to come up with a solution. This lab does not apply specifically to a particular month's White
Paper.
Second, there can be multiple solutions, some better than others.
An third, we're not going to present the solution(s) right now. We want our readers to submit a
solution. It's kinda like a contest. Solutions must be received via e-mail prior to May 19. Leigh
Anne Chisholm will review the solutions and select the best one(s), which will be posted next
month. In addition, the winner will receive a copy of the CCIEprep Exam Study Guide.
