Disclaimers
Customization means seller provided components, modifications, or enhancements to hardware, software, and/or electronics upon the
direct or indirect request of the buyer. Customization of parameters includes modification of standard parameters or inclusion of new
parameters to suit specific parameters requested by the buyer. Certain parameters of the instrument, its accessories and/or options may
be interrelated, and when parameter(s) is/are requested to be customized, achieving the specifications of such customized parameter
takes precedence over its related and/or dependent parameters and their specifications, making the specification of the dependent
parameter a floating specification that may be optimized by the Seller to meet the time and cost targets of the project.

Specifications of the instrument are listed as the individual parameters. The safe maximum operating limits of the instrument are as outlined
by the Seller and as stated in the operating manual. Maximum values of parameters may be applied individually or as a combination with
certain other parameters. However, maximum or minimum values of certain parameters may not be applied at the same time for
instrument and operator safety. Always refer the operating manual or consult Ducom Instruments for safe combinations of operating
parameters.

About Us
Ducom Instruments
Founded in 1978, Ducom Instruments has led the way in designing and manufacturing advanced materials testing
instruments with a specialization in tribology. Applying cutting-edge technology and strong design principles to its products,
Ducom focusses on providing customers with an excellent ownership experience starting with ease of use and maintenance.
Our locations in the United States, The Netherlands and in India each have an in-house Research & Development initiative
coupled with development partnerships with world renowned institutions. As a result, Ducom holds several proprietary
technologies, copyrights and patents with additional filings every year. Many of these technologies are applied to our
instruments, and work in the background so users can enjoy better results and user experiences.
Our instruments use components that are manufactured in an AS9100:2009 certified aerospace grade manufacturing facility
for excellent quality.
We also designed and put into place an active and distributed customer support architecture, which allows our support team
to address support requests in multiple modes which including remote support via video conferencing for quick and low cost
support to personal visits by our engineers for full on-site support.
Our instruments are operational all over the world. Research labs working on cutting edge technology development which
requires advanced and highly configurable test systems to standardized quality control requirements which rely on highly
repeatable systems to accurately monitor product quality test instruments by Ducom.

Overview
Materials and lubricants usually work in environments which
involve complex surface interactions. Movements, speeds
and loads encountered by surfaces and lubricants during use
are diverse and challenging to study.
The Roller on Roller Tribometer is intended for friction and
wear evaluations of materials and lubricants that operate
under roll and slide conditions as seen in gears, rail roads and
other such applications. With two servo controlled drives, this
system is capable of performing tribological tests in pure
sliding to rolling contact tests.
With the choice of a variety of sample adapters, users can
perform a variety of tests as shown in Error! Reference source
not found.. A fully computer controlled machine control and
data acquisition software allows test programming and acquisition and reporting of results
with ease.
Users can define percentage of slip and roll. The unique servo controlled drives allow precise
and control over test speeds and directions. Options of temperature control and automated
loading enhance testing capabilities.

Machine control
The Roller on Roller Tribometer uses the WinDucom software on a Windows operating system. The PC controls the test
sequence on the machine based on the parameters entered by the user. Sample related information can be fed into the
software at the start of the test for documentation and reporting purposes.
Post processing
Acquired data can be presented in several ways:
View test results of any test run
View parameters of up to 4 different tests together for comparison
Export acquired data in ASCII to other software
