Branch Weld w/ Reinforcing Pad (Pad thickness equals run pipe thickness. Pad width equals 1/2 branch OD.) (Note 81)
Sockolet

Weldolet (Note 05)
NOTES:
01 If a pipe schedule is shown under "SCH/RAT," it shall be adequate for the full flange rating. If "CALC" is shown, the pressure limit may be lower than full
flange rating.
02 All butt-welded component thicknesses shall match the pipe thickness.
03 Threaded joints are permitted only at the outlet of vent and drain valves, hydrostatic connections, outlet instrument take-off valves, and to match equipment.
05 Integrally reinforced branch connections are permitted outside the sizes shown in the branch connection table are permitted. Weld thickness of integrally
reinforced branch connections shall be checked to determine if PWHT is required.
06 These valves shall be used only for vent, drain, and instrument connections.
07 These valves have no flanges but are installed between line flanges with extra-length bolts.
12 These flanges shall be used only to match Class 300 flange connections at control valves and special equipment.
15 These valves shall be used if mating to flanged nozzles.
17 Threaded-outlet branch-weld fittings shall be used only for hydrostatic test connections.
20 Sch XXS pipe and pipe nipples shall be used for threaded connections for sizes NPS 1/2 through NPS 2.
26 These check valves shall be used only if indicated on the P&ID.
61 These check valves shall be installed in a horizontal position with cover up.
62 These check valves shall be installed in a horizontal position with cover up or in a vertical position with upward flow.
63 These check valves shall be installed in a horizontal position with hinge pin vertical or in a vertical position with upward flow.
81 Integrally reinforced branch connections, tees, and reducing tees are permitted as an acceptable alternative branch connection.
164 Carbon steel outer rings shall be limited to 800F maximum. 304 SS spiral wound gaskets with flexible graphite filler shall be limited to 900F maximum.
For higher temperatures, high temperature gaskets (e.g., gaskets with graphite filler protected by inner and outer mica barriers) shall be used. Gasket
manufacturers shall be consulted regarding the specific application, the recommended winding and filler materials, and the anticipated life under the service
conditions.
