Re-circulated Air Computation

AHU A
Mass Flow Rate of Re-circulated Air, mr
mr = ms-mo
Where: ms = Mass flow rate of supply air
mr = Mass flow rate of outside air
Qs = msCp (t2-t1)
ms = Qs / Cp(t2-t1)
where: Qs (total)= 321.146 kW
Cp = 1.0062 KJ/kg-oK (supply air)
t2 = inside temp. to be maintained
t1 = supply air temp.
ms = 321.146 KW / 1.0062(20-15)
ms = 63.83 kg/sec
QL = 2500 ms (W2-W1)
From Psychrometric Chart:
@t2 = 20 oC and RH = 54%
W2 = 0.0065 kg/kg
QL = 155.282 kW
155.282 kW = (2500) (63.83 kg/sec) (0.0065- W1)
W1 = 0.00553 kg/kg
Solving for mo:
Qv = mo (h3-h1)
Where: Qv = 43.718 kW

From Psychrometric chart:

@ t3= 35 oC: R.H.= 70% ; and h3= 100 kJ/kg
@ t1= 15 oC ; W1= 0.00553 ; and h1= 29.5 kJ/kg
43.718 kW = mo (100-29.5)
mo = 0.62 kg/sec
Solving for mass flow rate of re-circulated air, mr
mr = ms-mo
mr = 63.83 - 0.62
mr = 63.21 kg/sec
Converting of percentage air:
% Re-circulated air = (mr/ms) x 100%
= (63.21 / 63.83)
% Re-circulated air = 99%
