SUGGESTED PLANNING ENGLISH B2 ONLINE

Dear all,
1. As you all must be already aware it is highly recommended to buy and download the Burlington
method on your computer. Once you buy the book you are given a code to download the method on
your computer. The physical book is actually a guide with grammar explanations and exercises with the
answer key. The textbook is what you download.
2. The platform is the virtual space that complements the method. We tutors are in charge of attending
to your queries on the corresponding forum. Also, we have designed several writing and listening tasksOPTIONAL, though helpful- for you to do some extra- practice. They will be posted on the main page
bit by bit with the corresponding answer key for you to self-correct. It is desirable that you follow the
planning we have added- I attach the document, just in case you cannot find it on the main page-.
Remember this is just a SUGGESTION.
Regarding the speaking activities: You can create a speaking group to interact with your coursemates,
you can agree to meet at a local pub if you leave nearby and hang out together, you can have a chat with
them via skype. This is what students actually do in a class, they interact with their classmates and by
doing so they become aware of their difficulties. It is true that we teachers will not be around to correct
your mistakes but in a real class is much more important what you do than what we tutors do. If you do
some research on the Internet I am sure you will find plenty of places where you can put your English
into practise. If not, practising online is another option. You can find some more information on this in
the document I attach.
3. As I am sure you already know, this medium changes the dynamics of class interactions between
students and tutors. Like in any other online course we expect you to be pro-active and collaborative
in some of the activities we suggest. For example, you should make use of all the advantages the
Internet offers such as fantastic dictionaries online where you can look up the meaning of words you do
not know.
Needless to say, you are free to meet your learning objectives at your own pace, though following the
planning I mentioned above is highly desirable.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Your tutors
