Wonder Spectacular

Class Description
My class consists of 25 students, 14 girls and 11 boys. They are all good and
determined kids, if you tell them what to do, they will do whatever you tell them,
to the best of their ability.

3.2A- Reading/Beginning Reading/Strategies. Students comprehend a variety of


texts drawing on useful strategies as needed.

3.22A- Oral and Written Conventions/Conventions. Students understand the
function of and use the conventions of academic language when speaking and
writing. Students continue to apply earlier standards with greater complexity.

-verbs (past, present, and future), nouns (singular/plural, common/proper),
adjectives (e.g., descriptive: wooden, rectangular; limiting: this, that; articles: a,

3.18B- Writing/Literary Texts. Students write literary texts to express their
ideas and feelings about real or imagined people, events, and ideas. Students are
expected to:
- write poems that convey sensory details using the conventions of poetry (e.g.,
rhyme, meter, patterns of verse).

3.1A- Students identify and discuss how the actions of U.S. citizens
and the local, state, and federal governments have either met or
failed to meet the ideals espoused in the founding documents.

communities, past and present. The student is expected to:

variations in the physical environment. The student is expected to:
-describe the effects of physical processes such as volcanoes,
hurricanes, and earthquakes in shaping the landscape;

Science3.5B- Matter and energy. The student knows that matter has
measurable physical properties and those properties determine how
matter is classified, changed, and used. The student is expected to:
-describe and classify samples of matter as solids, liquids, and gases
and demonstrate that solids have a definite shape and that liquids and
gases take the shape of their container;
3.8D- Earth and space. The student knows there are recognizable
patterns in the natural world and among objects in the sky. The
student is expected to:
-identify the planets in Earth's solar system and their position in
relation to the Sun.
3.9B- Organisms and environments. The student knows that
organisms have characteristics that help them survive and can
describe patterns, cycles, systems, and relationships within the
environments. The student is expected to:
identify and describe the flow of energy in a food chain and predict
how changes in a food chain affect the ecosystem such as removal of
frogs from a pond or bees from a field;

mathematical process standards to represent and compare
whole numbers and understand relationships related to place
value. The student is expected to:
-apply mathematics to problems arising in everyday life,
society, and the workplace;
3.4C- Number and operations. The student applies
mathematical process standards to develop and use strategies
and methods for whole number computations in order to solve
problems with efficiency and accuracy. The student is
expected to:
-determine the value of a collection of coins and bills;
3.9F- Personal financial literacy. The student applies
mathematical process standards to manage one's financial
resources effectively for lifetime financial security. The
student is expected to:
-identify decisions involving income, spending, saving, credit,
and charitable giving

Learning Objectives
-The students will learn the trait of responsibility to come up with a project
performance on their own, with some teacher and parent help.
-They will also be put to the test to remember the past learning subjects for the
year, and apply them to their performance in an educational way.

Scope and Project Description


Description- This project that will be given to the students as a final review and hurrah for the
school year to raise money for the final school trip of the year. This project will consist of multiple
performances or presentation from the students that are put into groups. These performances will
consist of knowledge that the students have learned over the year. They will be presented with as much
creativity and originality as applicable by the students. There will be a showcase for members of the
community, parents, and friends of the students to attend. It will cost family and friends of the students
$3 per person to attend, for others it will be $5 per person for having no relation to the students. Along
with donations from the people of attendance at these performances.There will be 2-3 performances of
this presentation. Based on the money that was raised from this performance, it will help contribute to
the students final field trip of the school year.

Materials and Estimated Cost


Estimated Cost- The desired spending is none, the instructions is to use objects at school or from
home. Hopefully, no more than $15-$20 are spent per students, this spectacular is meant to raise
money no spend it.

Materials- For this project, the students will be primarily instructed to use household items or items
that are in the classroom. But if necessary for outside spending, the students will have a limited budget
of $15-$20 for project spending.
