Trigonometry Online 2nd 5-weeks Summer II 2016

Mary Jane Ferguson

Mathematics Department
HCC Central College
Welcome to my Trigonometry online class (Math 1316-08, section 12962)! This class is from
July 11, 2016 to August 14, 2016.
You are in an online class where almost all of the communication will be done by READING. Please READ the
remainder of this document CAREFULLY because YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INFORMATION IN IT.

DO NOT TRY TO ENTER THIS CLASS THROUGH EAGLE,

MOODLE, OR CANVAS.
WHEN YOU LOG INTO MYMATHLAB (the computer program used
for this class) YOU MUST USE THE EXACT SAME

NAME IN THE GRADEBOOK IN MYMATHLAB THAT

YOU USED WHEN YOU REGISTERED FOR THE
COURSE WITH HCC. YOU CANNOT BE REGISTERED WITH THE
COLLEGE UNDER ONE NAME AND REGISTERED IN MYMATHLAB
WITH A DIFFERENT NAME. IF YOU DO NOT REMEMBER THE NAME YOU
USED TO REGISTER WITH THE COLLEGE, LOOK IT UP BEFORE
REGISTERING IN MYMATHLAB. I will have a gradesheet from HCC on which I must enter your
grades at the end of the course and a gradesheet from MyMathLab with your Test and Homework grades on
which your semester grade will be computed. If your name is different on these two gradesheets then I will have
no way of knowing that the two names are the same person. If this happens, you will have to open a new account
in MyMathLab and you will lose credit for any work you have done in the first account.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION. It would be a good idea for
you to print this document and put it in your Math 1316 folder for future reference.

Information About the Class

The class site in MyMathLab is loaded with all the materials you will need for the course an electronic version of
the textbook, video clips and PowerPoint presentations that support the course, help screens, a gradebook to
track your progress, and access to live tutoring over the phone. As you use these materials to learn the concepts
of the course, you will work Homework assignments online. Each Homework assignment is instantly graded but
may be repeated as many times as you wish until its deadline. The average of the Homework grades is equal to
a Test grade.
There will be four major UNPROCTORED Tests in the course plus a PROCTORED comprehensive Final Exam.
Homework and Tests (except for the Final Exam) are online and can be done anywhere that you have an internet
connection. The MANDATORY Final Exam is the only exam which must be taken in an approved college
testing center.
