Medication

Emphasize the importance of continuous and strict compliance in taking medications at home.
Inform the patient and significant others about the usage and possible side effects of the meds given.
Inform the patient and significant others to always check the expiration date of the medicines.

Environment

Advise the patient and significant others to continue the drug regimen and follow all prescribed medications of the patient.
Instruct the patient and family to provide a peaceful environment that will provide comfort to the patient.
Provide safety inside and outside the surroundings.

Instruct the patient and his relatives to keep environment quiet to avoid irritation
Explain to the patient the administration of insulin and other oral meds.
Instruct the patient for proper hygiene, bath regularly and prevent infection.
Remind the patient and family with the incoming follow-up check-up including the time and date.
Instruct patient to avoid eating fatty foods, fried foods, sweet and salty foods
Advise significant others to promote a safe environment for the patient, also keep away from people who smoke.
