(On May 12, 2016, the City of New York sold a lien on your property, isted above, for the amount shown at the top of this
letter. This action was taken because there are unpaid charges on this property for taxes, other properly assessments,
and/or water and sewer charges, including the interest acorued on these charges. The City has not sold your property.
We have sold your property-related debt to a third-party called the lien holder. The lien holder now has the right to collect
payments of the entire lien amount, plus interest and other charges. If you do not make the required payments to the lien
holder and/or pay the entire lien amount by a date specified by the lien holder, the lien holder has the right to begin a
formal foreclosure proceeding in court, which could ultimately resutt in the sale of your property.

The Lien Holder's Right to Impose Additional Charges
Ifthe property and/or the owner are not the subject of a Bankruptcy proceeding on the date of the lien sale, the lien holder
has the right to impose the following charges, which begin to accrue from the date of the lien sale, in addition to the taxes,
charges, assessments and/or interest already owed.
A.5% surcharge on the amount of the lien
‘The charges incurred for administrative costs, including the cost of advertisements and notices
Interest payable semi-annually on the unpaid balance at the legally applicable rate applied to unpaid real property
taxes on the subject property (either 9% or 18% per year compounded daily) until the len amount, surcharge,
‘administrative costs and interest are all paid in full
(OVER)Paying the Amount You Owe
all the lien holder's collection agency at the phone number printed on the top of the first page for the most up-to-date
payoff amount. The agency can also provide Instructions for wiring your payment or entering into a payment agreement
for the total lien amount,

Water and Sewer Charges
If the heading on top of this letter is "Water Board Lien Amount,
Board were included in the lien sold on the property,
then water and sewer charges billed by the NYC Water
If ‘DOF Billed Water Lien Amount’ is listed, the amount due also includes water and sewer charges that are not included
in the "Water Board Lien Amount." Collection of unpaid water and sewer charges incurred before April 1995 is the
responsibility of the Department of Finance, not the Water Board.
New Taxes and Other Charges
‘The total lien amount relates to charges due and unpaid as of May 11, 2016. The City will continue to bill the property
‘owner (or other authorized parties) for any new property taxes and charges due or imposed on or after May 12, 2016.
Department of Finance may sell liens for this new debt in the future if not paid by their respective due dates.
The Lien Holder's Right to Foreclose/The Taxpayer's Right to Satisfy Lien
Except in a bankruptoy situation (see below), the law allows the lien holder to begin a formal foreclosure proceeding in
court one year after the lien sale date if you have not paid the fien in full or entered into @ payment agreement with the llen
holder. Foreclosure can also begin if you don't pay the semi-annual interest on the lien sale amount within 30 days after it
is due. Foreclosure will result in the court-ordered sale of the property, after which you will no longer own it.
Record Owner and/or the Property Involved in a Bankruptcy Proceeding
Ifthe property owner andlor the property is the subject of a bankruptcy, the Bankruptcy Code prohibits the lien holder from
any “acts of collection” until the bankruptcy is concluded, unless’ otherwise authorized by the Bankruptcy Court.
Accordingly, the lien holder is stayed from bringing foreclosure proceedings unless it obtains relief from the Bankruptcy
Court from the automatic stay. The sale of the tax lien is not an act of collection.
