ICRI Technical Guideline No. 120.12009

ICRI Technical Guideline No. 210.3R2013

Guidelines and Recommendations for

Safety in the Concrete Repair Industry

This guideline can be used to educate super

visors, craft workers, owners, and engineers
in safe work practices for the concrete repair
industry. The guideline will have universal
appeal, as it has been developed to be a
visual tool that depicts the safe performance
of specific tasks and the hazards associated
with those tasks. The requirements described are based on the most
recent OSHA standards and are intended to provide guidance and
training in the planning and execution of repair and restoration
projects. Also available in Spanish.

Material Mixing Equipment

The intent of this document is not to advocate

one type of paddle or piece of equipment
versus another, discuss mixing efficiency, or
other properties, but simply to provide a
single-source common guide that can be used
in the trade when describing or specifying
mixing equipment. Specifying equipment for
mixing concrete repair materials is extremely difficult because the
industry uses multiple names for the same equipment and the same
names for different equipment. Different types of mixing paddles
and mixers can produce different consistencies and properties in
concrete repair products. This guideline will help ensure the
appropriate equipment is properly described or specified. PDF ONLY.

EVALUATION

Code Requirements for Evaluation, Repair, and Rehabilitation of

Concrete Buildings (ACI 562-13) and Commentary
The ACI 562 code provides standard requirements for evaluat
ing existing concrete buildings and then the subsequent structural
repair, rehabilitation, and strengthening of those buildings. This
code provides rules for a preliminary evaluation that determines the
design basis codethat is, if the building can be repaired based
on the ACI 318 version used in the original design, or if the repair
needs to comply with the current ACI 318. The code provides rules
for determining strength of in-place material, performing structural
analysis, designing for repaired strength and durability, requirements
for stability and shoring of construction, and inspection and testing
of repairs. Commentary provides application guidance as well as
references for additional information.

ICRI Technical Guideline No. 210.42009

Guide for Nondestructive Evaluation Methods
for Condition Assessment, Repair, and
Performance Monitoring of Concrete Structures
This new guideline will assist contractors,
owners, engineers, architects, and material
suppliers in the selection of nondestructive
evaluation (NDE) methods for evaluating the
condition of concrete structures. NDE can be
a very useful method to provide quality control and assurance of
repairs and long-term performance monitoring. Considerations in
planning and executing an NDE program, including correlating
with destructive methods, are discussed in the guideline. Guidance,
including a brief synopsis of each method, is presented for select
ing which NDE methods are appropriate for the concrete property/
