Training Technique
Indian Education system, is highly knowledgecentric, the consequence of which is that we have a
large pool of talent having ample scientific knowledge
but little skill in practically applying it in the real world.
The Potential
It is estimated that approximately 20 million tons of industrial paint is produced annually worldwide. Such large amount of paint requires a proportionately large number of personnel for its
application, supervision and quality control.
Structural work and fabrication is another multi-billion industry in which there is a huge demand
for personnel with Quality Control certifications related to welding.
Non-Destrutive Testing is another field which offers a great career opportunity in a wide group
of analysis techniques used in science and industry to evaluate properties of a material, component
or system without causing damage to the object getting tested. Because NDT does not permanently
alter the article being inspected, it is a highly valuable technique that can save both money and time
in product evaluation, troubleshooting and research.
There is a tremendous shortage of qualified persons in the above mentioned areas. To fill the
huge gap between demand and supply of such personnel, BISP offers Internationally recognized
certificate courses right at your doorstep - in Cochin. And the demand is ever-increasing for qualified
Blasters, Painters, Painting Supervisors, Painting Inspectors, Welders, Welding Inspectors and NonDestructive Test (NDT) Personnel - especially in Middle East, Europe, Far East and within the Country.
Principles of surface preparations Hand and tool cleaning methods Abrasive blast cleaning
High pressure water jet cleaning Proper spray techniques Proper mixing techniques
Different methods of painting such as by brush, rollers, conventional and airless spray guns.
A general understanding of corrosion, its causes and remedies.
Different types of paints, their compositions and protective action.
Safety and safe working conditions as well as health hazards and their preventive measures.
The course will be inclusive of a week of extensive practical training.
Basic mathematics for fundamental calculations, conversions and quantity survey will also be covered.
Common painting faults & remedies
Course Description:
This program is designed to present the basic technology of coating application and inspection. It provides both
technical and practical fundamentals for coating inspection works on various structures. The services of a supervisor
or Inspector having this knowledge is vital in preventing incorrect coating applications leading to coating failures.
Course Content:
Course format
The course progresses through classroom lectures interspersed with hands-on practical on various equipments
and instruments associated with quality control of surface preparation and coating applications.
Who should attend ?

Applications
NDT is used in a variety of settings that covers a wide range of industrial activities in such diverse fields as:
Automotive Aviation / Aerospace Powerplants Construction Maintenance and repair Manufacturing
Industrial plants such as Nuclear, Petrochemical, Power, Refineries, Pulp and Paper, Fabrication shops, Mine
processing and their Risk Based Inspection programmes. Pipelines Railways Wire Rope Testing for, C r a n e
Wires, Rope-way Wires Medical imaging applications, to name a few.
Successful and consistent application of nondestructive testing techniques depends heavily on appropriate
training, experience and integrity. Personnel involved in application of Industrial NDT methods and interpretation of
results should be certified, and in some industrial sectors certification is enforced by law or by the applied codes and
standards.
NDT Courses
What is ASNT ?
ASNT stands for America Society for Non-Destructive Testing and it happens to be one of the most reputed and
authentic certification bodies in the field of NDT.
Among various certification levels of ASNT, the most sought - after one is ASNT level-2 which enables a person to
set up and calibrate testing equipment, conduct the inspection according to codes and standards and compile work
instructions for a team of technicians. They are also authorized to report, interpret, evaluate and document testing
results. They can also supervise and train Level 1 technicians. In addition to testing methods, they will be familiar
with applicable codes and standards and will have some knowledge of the manufacture and service of tested
products
Some of the most popular testing methods are:

Entry Requirements:
Certified Welding Inspector Level 2 with minimum 2 years experience / Overall 5 years experience in welding
field with CSWIP Level-2.
