1. Put yourself in McCaskey's shoes, what would you recommend that the next steps be
in the Silicon 6 project? Why?
Go the unethical way and do the Silicon 6 project. As

Kaufmann is an experienced person, and instead of McCaskey doing the

information gathering, it is better if he takes control of it, as it doesnt hurt
the ethical values of McCaskey

Devon would not only provide the manufacturing of state-of-the-art chips of

the competitor but also the analysis of many other alternatives

20% of the revenue of the project will go to Seleris, thereby increasing the
revenue of the company

She will also get a boost her confidence, as she handled a very big project

She will be promoted to the Group Managers post as soon as she completes
Silicon 6

She will be reprieved from the tedious fieldwork

After that when in the Group Managers post well try to change the ethical
standards and thereby change the way people work

Go ethical way, and quit the division. As

IAD is a division which we think cant handle responsibilities, as the work

ethics, policies, and other formal aspects are mostly not written

In case anything goes wrong, the company wont take accountability

The incident between Richardson and McCarthy also strengthens the above
statement

So all the above statements boil down to the question Who is accountable for
what?

When the project is taken the stakes are very high for McCaskey and for IAD division
as well, so we think it is better to stay ethical and quit the IAD division.
